Which branch is better surface coating or polymer in ICT Mumbai?

ICT Mumbai is one of the well-known colleges for chemical technology. It has been ranked in the 15, and 7 positions by NIRF and The World University Rankings. The college offers 3 UG courses, 5 PG courses, and several Ph.D. courses.

The surface coating and polymers courses are offered in B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D. levels. Both the courses are best in their own aspects. However, it all depends upon your interest and preferences. Both the courses have the same admission process, fee, similar placement rate, and career growth.

Admission process for Surface Coating Engineering and Polymer Engineering:

  • The college accepts admissions purely based on the entrance exams such as JEE Mains, GATE, and MHT CET.

  • B.Tech students have to meet the minimum eligibility of 10+2 with 50% scores in physics, mathematics, and chemistry.

  • While M.Tech students have to meet the minimum eligibility of 60% of the total aggregate in B.Tech.

  • For the Ph.D. course, the candidates should score a minimum of 55% in their master’s degree in the relevant field.

Fee and Faculty:

    1. first-year courses fee for both the courses for B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D. are 85,350 INR, 70,750 INR, and 64,500 INR respectively.
  • The faculty of the college hold the highest degrees in their respective field. Almost all professors are subject experts.

Cut-off Rankings:

  • For surface coating engineering the required cutoff in JEE Mains is around 1478 to 1647.

  • For polymer engineering in JEE Mains ranking of around 844 to 1063 is required.

  • For surface coating engineering the MHT-CET cutoff is around 143.

Placements:

  • Almost every student gets placed in top companies with good salary packages. The placement percentage of college is 90%.

  • The highest and average salaries of the students are 18 LPA and 5 LPA.

  • The companies visiting the campus are ITC, Jacobs, Pidilite Industries, UOP India Private Limited, Mario, Honeywell, Tata Motors, Johnson, BPCL, and many more.

The hostel is in the college campus itself which makes it very convenient for the students. The hostel facility is very good. The price is very affordable considering the cost of living in Mumbai. The hostel fee is around 36 thousand rupees per year.
