In fact, if you perform well, you could land a pre-placement offer! As for placements in 2025/26, I’ve heard that around 70-75% of students get placed, with offers from top companies coming in. The fees are a bit high, but the job prospects make it worthwhile.

Having spent two years studying Mathematics and Computing at DTU, here are some key insights about this branch as of 2018.

• MC is a math-centric branch, so consider this only if you have strong fundamentals in mathematics. The syllabus was updated in 2016, introducing important topics and new-generation electives. There’s also a significant portion of computer-related subjects, ensuring you’re well-versed in coding and core CS concepts.
• Faculty is good. If you attend lectures regularly and maintain a good rapport with professors, you’ll have no trouble grasping the material. The Department of Applied Mathematics boasts some of the best and most renowned professors at DTU.
• This branch is gaining industrial recognition rapidly. Interviewers tend to take math undergraduates more seriously for core technical roles that require analytical and computational skills.
• Advantage of Exclusivity. This is a major factor driving demand for MC. Currently, only DTU, IIT-Delhi, IIT-Guwahati, IIT-Hyderabad, and IIIT-Delhi offer a B.Tech in Mathematics and Computing. That means there are less than 1000 MC undergraduates.

DTU's BBA program has a fee structure of approximately 3,00,000. It’s a little steep, especially since it increases a bit each year. But if you manage to get a scholarship, it can help ease the financial burden. Just keep in mind that many students focus on higher studies instead of placements, so the percentage of students getting placed is only around 30-35%.

If you're planning to pursue B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering at DTU, be ready to shell out ?2,29,000 for your first year. You need to pay this amount upfront. While it seems high, the placement stats make it worthwhile. The highest packages last year went up to ?82.05 LPA, so there's definitely a good return on investment!

I’ve noticed that the end semester results for BBA at DTU typically come out within 30 to 40 days after the exams wrap up. So, if our exams finish in late November, we’re looking at results being out by mid to late December. It’s a bit stressful, but at least we get a break in between!

so with 90 percentile your JEE rank is around 1,08,000–1,24,000. getting into DTU is possible but branch options are limited.

• Chemical Engineering — decent chance
• Civil Engineering — good chance
• Biotechnology / Environmental Engg — strong chance
• CSE / IT / Mech / ECE — not happening, those need 98–99 percentile

big thing most people miss — Delhi quota only applies if you studied class 11 and 12 from Delhi. not just if you live in Delhi. if you're from another state your cutoffs are way tighter. if you have Delhi quota and 90 percentile, lower branches are totally doable. if you don't, honestly weigh whether a better branch at a decent NIT beats DTU Chemical. also wait for later JAC rounds — cutoffs drop and seats open up!

Important: DTU admissions are through JAC Delhi counseling, NOT JoSAA. Delhi students get 85% seats (Delhi quota), outside Delhi students compete for 15% seats. At 94 percentile Delhi quota you have decent options; outside Delhi is very tough.

If Delhi home state:

• CSE at DTU: likely out (closes ~97-98+ percentile Delhi quota)
• IT, ECE, EE: might open in later rounds at 94 percentile Delhi quota
• Mech, Civil, Environmental: more accessible at this score

If outside Delhi:

• DTU outside Delhi quota is very competitive. 94 percentile for outside Delhi quota gets you at best Mech/Civil, not CS/IT/ECE
• Better to target DTU equivalent colleges in your home state

pro tip: apply to all JAC Delhi rounds and put your preferred branches. Cutoffs drop by 2-3 percentile points between round 1 and round 4. Also simultaneously apply to JoSAA for NITs — at 94 percentile you can get mid-tier NITs in non-CS branches. Don't put all eggs in the DTU basket.
