Since you haven't mentioned your background or favorite stream, I'll answer generally. Both schools seem fine. You can take IMT if you want to work in marketing. In your case, DCP's fees are a bit high, but you get a good amount of exposure. You can take IMT if you want to work in marketing. For a PGDM FS, KJ Somaiya is the best option among these. The institute has a locational advantage since it is situated at the financial hub of the country, i.e. Mumbai.  KJ Somaiya placements are great. According to the 2022 interim placement report, the average CTC offered to the students was INR 10.25 LPA, while the highest CTC offered was INR 26.50 LPA.

Between GIM and SIIB, the letter offers better industrial relations and better job roles in campus placements.

Is MBA waste of time?

AK
Anjan Kaushik Posted On : October 30th, 2020
PGDM in Post Graduate Diploma in Management, SVKM's NMIMS (Graduated 2021)

Pursuing an MBA is certainly not a waste of time in fact it is considered as an investment due to the salary packages offered to MBA graduates by top companies early in their career. The average starting salary package of an MBA graduate ranges from 12-15 LPA and the highest being 20-40 LPA depending on the company and the position you are hired in.

Placement Scenario

An MBA degree takes precedence over any other postgraduate degree.

  • MBA has a 100% placement record.
  • The highest salary package offered is 20-40 LPA.
  • The average salary package offered is 12-15 LPA.
  • Top companies like Deloitte, Morgan Stanley, Nestle, Asian Paints, Saint Gobain, Wipro, Berger Paints, Phillips, McKinsey and Company, HSBC, Yes Bank, etc. hire MBA graduates.

Return on Investment (ROI)

MBA also being a costly course provides a good Return On Investment (ROI).

  • The efficiency of an investment is determined by the measurement and comparison of the ROI.
  • The MBA course graduates can get higher salary packages offered to them.
  • They get a raise or hike in 10 years considering the long term salary projections.
  • Students opting for an Executive MBA are working and are in the process of pursuing the degree, so the salary earned will also be included when calculating ROI, making it a profitable subject.
  • The highest salary package offered to MBA graduates can rise from 48 LPA to 70 LPA in India.

Thus, pursuing MBA is not a waste of money or time if you invest your dedication in it well. To achieve something big one has to go through a number of steps before reaching their destination. In pursuing MBA also students have to be focussed and determined to complete their degree for better career prospects or opportunities. It helps one to learn how to organise themselves and synchronize it with the roles and responsibilities.

Is Alliance University good for a PGDM? Are all the management issues sorted now? How are the placements as of now? How good is the ROI?

RK
Revaansh Khurana Posted On : July 23rd, 2021
Studied at Alliance University

Alliance University Bangalore now offers an MBA instead of the earlier DGDM degree through its two schools; Alliance School of Business and Alliance Ascent College. Make sure first which one you are applying to.

Alliance University once used to be one of the best management institutes in Bangalore but now has lost its credibility among the students due to various reasons.

As for the placements, it is still decent according to the latest reports of the institute. For the year 2020, the university reported the highest salary and the average salary of the MBA programs to be INR 22.6 lakhs per annum and INR 7.6 lakhs per annum respectively.

The fee structure for MBA at both the schools at Alliance University is given in the table below –

Particulars Alliance School of Business Alliance Ascent College
Tuition Fee INR 13.50 lakhs INR 9 lakhs
Registration Fee INR 50,000 INR 50,000

The university offers hostel accommodation and charges INR 81,000 and INR 96,000 for double occupancy and single occupancy rooms respectively for 6 months at its Central Campus.

When looking at the fee, the Return on Investment (ROI) does not look great. Many other universities will provide better exposure.
