Coming to the second part of your question, a package of 15 LPA and above is certain for those who have scored the highest percentile only. It’s not possible for B Schools to offer package roles to the entire batch to maintain a high average figure. So before joining a college for MBA you should analyze whether the package you will get will compensate for the hefty fees you pay.

Which one is better: IMT or XIMB or IMI??

If you have a closer look, there is no major difference between the 3 B Schools. So I have made it easier by judging them on the basis of 2 parameters only.

Admissions: Most competent students get a call from 2 of these 3 institutes as all the 3 to have similar requisites

Placements: The placements are also at a similar level. The profiles and packages offered are similar in all the 3 B Schools except that IMT is a little behind owing to its huge batch size.

So I would say the order would be as this- XIMB >=IMI>IMT

The table below will give you a better picture of the comparison between the 3 colleges

What should I choose between IIM Sambalpur and IMT Ghaziabad??

SR
Sunita Roy Posted On : June 28th, 2023
Lives in Sambalpur

It depends on which IMT Ghaziabad course you got. If you got the core PGDM in IMT Ghaziabad then definitely go for it.

There are some parameters based on which you can make your choice.

  1. Location - IMT Ghaziabad has an upper edge over IIM Sambalpur as Ghaziabad is near Gurgaon which is a corporate hub.
  2. Brand value- IIM Sambalpur has a better brand value and image than IMT Ghaziabad.
  3. Placements- Both of the colleges reported 100% placements. The average package at IIM Sambalpur was 16,63,650 LPA and the average package at IMT Ghaziabad was 19 LPA.

Overall, The choice is yours, but according to me, IMT Ghaziabad is a better choice.

Which one is better among IMT Gaziabad, XIM Bhubaneswar, and SIIB Pune?

SB
Sampriti Banerjee Posted On : April 1st, 2023
studied at Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (2017)

You should consider XIM Bhubaneshwar over IMT Ghaziabad, and SIIB Pune as your choice of B-school. Following are the pros and cons.

Pros:

  • XIMB has its own unique culture and selects students who fit into that culture.
  • The institute provides a great student life on campus, with excellent faculty and a lot of freedom for students.
  • The geographical disadvantage of the institute is compensated by almost 100% placements, especially for above-average students.
  • XIMB provides a lot of opportunities for interaction with industry experts, giving students good exposure.
  • The alumni of XIMB are doing well in almost all big corporate houses, which helps in placements and career moves after the first job.
  • Being an XIMB alum carries a lot of brand value and credibility.

Cons:

  • XIMB's location is a disadvantage that may affect its rankings.
  • The quota system, although rigorous, goes against XIMB in rankings.

Is It worth to join B schools like IMT/IMI/XIMB whose fees are around 20 lakhs if I have calls from reputed government colleges on par with these?

SB
Suntonu Basu Posted On : March 13th, 2023
Professor of Finance at Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (2015-present)

Before I talk about the worth of private B Schools like IMT/IMI/XIMB, let’s consider their average packages.

B School

Average Package

IMT

INR 17.35 LPA

IMI Delhi

INR 17.01 LPA

XIMB

INR 20 LPA

The average package of government colleges like IITs and DSE is slightly less around INR 10.57 LPA. So the point is if you are ready to invest a hefty amount in B Schools, you will not regret the decision as they are game changers. The level of exposure and diversity is almost higher than in Government colleges. IITs, DFS and DSE MBAs have a more theoretical approach than a practical one. However, the figures for private B schools are inflated so do consider the ups and downs.

  • IITs are best for operations and manufacturing industries
  • IMT or XIMB is a good option for Marketing
  • DFS or IMI are best suited for Finance
  • XIMB or DSE are best for HR

The final decision is up to you. Try to find what exactly you want from MBA

  • If you are looking for the IIT tag, then IIT
  • If you are after ROI or PhD then DSE or DFS
  • If you want to climb the corporate ladder, XIMB is the best

Make a well-informed decision after proper research.

My son got admission at IMT, Ghaziabad. Is it worth it to take admission? The fee is Rs. 19 lakhs

VS
Vidushi Singla Posted On : January 25th, 2023
PGDM from Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad (Graduated 2022)

Everyone has a different definition of worth. In my opinion, IMT Ghaziabad is worth getting admission at under the following circumstances

  • If you are a Marketing enthusiast, IMT Ghaziabad is the best B School out there for you. It’s well known for its specialization in marketing and offers a plethora of opportunities in the same.
  • If you are ready to put extra effort to learn and adopt the techniques of trade
  • If your target packages range from 12-20 LPA
  • If you are not interested in MBB firms or Investment Banking roles
  • If your graduation from college does not include the institutes like top 5 IIT/SRCC/LSR

In fact if right harnessed, IMT Ghaziabad has many excellent opportunities to offer. It’s a well-established institute and among the top B Schools in the country. Established as early as 1980, it has an elaborate alumni network. So if you are true to yourself and your career this B School will help you climb to the top gradually.

Is it advisable to leave your 6-LPA job and join IMT Ghaziabad marketing PGDM?

PT

MBA in Operations & Marketing (college minor), Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad (Graduated 2006)

When considering whether to pursue a higher degree or continue working with a current job offer, it is important to weigh the potential long-term benefits of upgrading one's education against the immediate financial gain from the job offer. While it may be tempting to take a high-paying job in the short term, an advanced degree such as an MBA from a reputable institution can open doors to even more opportunities and higher earning potential in the long run.

IMT Ghaziabad is a good institution that offers a strong value proposition, even though it may not be considered a top institution compared to IIM or ISB. It is still considered a reputable institution in India and an MBA from IMT Ghaziabad can open many doors for students. However, it's important to keep in mind that this decision ultimately depends on your personal career goals and aspirations. It's best to weigh your options and consider which path aligns best with your long-term career aspirations.

What should be preference order of IMT Ghaziabad courses- PGDM, PGDM marketing, PGDM finance, PGDM DCP, PGDM banking, insurance and financial services?

DC
Dhruv Chatterjee Posted On : January 25th, 2023
PGDM from Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad (Graduated 2022)

IMT Ghaziabad offers a variety of courses that cater to various specializations. These courses have been listed and explained in their order of preference

  • PGDM Marketing/PGDM Full Time (Marketing): This is the most coveted program among IMT students mainly because today its alumni have acquired top positions in big firms. Other major reasons include top-notch faculty, great internship and placement opportunities in terms of role and CTC, IMT’s eligibility, and excellent performances in recognized marketing and strategy B Schools competitions.
  • PGDM Finance/PGDM Full Time (Finance): This one is most suitable for aspirants who are interested in Finance. However, this program offers lesser opportunities than the Marketing program in terms of role and CTC.
  • PGDM Full Time (Operations): This program offers opportunities similar to that of Finance. But the batch size of PGDM Operations is smaller than PGDM Finance, so it may be easier to secure an internship/final placement, but the opportunities come less compared to Finance.
  • PGDM DCP: DCP or the Dual Country Program is for those who are keen to get international exposure. Compared to an MBA from a foreign university, this program is cheaper and yet offers an opportunity to explore a different culture and learn to make decisions in an international context. This is best suitable for those who are in the Marketing domain.
  • PGDM Banking and Financial Services (PGDM-BFS): This program was launched in 2019 and is relatively newer. It targets the core Banking and Finance sector. While the MBA program aims to provide a holistic view of management, this program solely focuses on Banking and Finance.
  • PGDM Full Time (HR): This is the least taken course and offers very less in terms of opportunities.

The courses have been arranged preference-wise so will make it easy for you to choose one.
