One of my friends graduated from NIT Trichy and here’s what I got to know from him about the salary packages offered to students at NIT Trichy. It is considered the best NIT among all.

CSE at NIT Trichy is the best option if you want a good salary package. Companies like Google, Facebook, and Microsoft visit during the placement program. 

For CSE students, NIT Trichy has a 100% placement record, which they have maintained till now. Many top recruiting companies participate in their placement program. These include Microsoft, BNY Mellon, Amazon, Uber, Goldman Sachs, Mindtree, etc.

Without any doubt, we all get into the dilemma when we listen to the word shift course especially for the courses like B.Tech. But the shift course has been introduced in some colleges to increase their intake capacity of students for the popular courses to give opportunities to many students. 

• Usually, the normal time of the class in the college is from 9 am but for the shift course the classes commence at 11 am onwards and end up by 5 pm. 
• There is not much difference in the timings. 
• Also, the students of the shift course are provided with equal opportunities, similar placements are given to them without making any difference between CSE and CSSC students.

Therefore, we can conclude that the shift course is just to expand the capacity of the students keeping in mind the university norms, rest all the things are similar to the normal CSE course. So there is nothing much to worry about. 

As you have come up with this doubt, I assume that you have got a good rank in UPSEE. So, congratulations on securing a good rank in UPSEE that gave you the opportunity to choose from such elite institutions.

Unless and until it is an IIT, core branches are always a better choice than non-core branches.

Forget about non-core branches in UP government colleges, there is not much facilities and exposure. So, if you are getting a chance, it is highly recommended to go for CSE in BIET or KNIT because in CSE or IT, you just need a laptop and good internet connectivity and these colleges provide WIFI facility. You will have to indulge yourself in regular practice to bring the best out of yourself, as everything is available on the internet.

CSE would be a better choice if you look forward to getting placed after your graduation. If you want to pursue higher studies then, non-core branches at IET Lucknow will give you a better exposure such as coaching institutes, because of its location.

Sharda University and Dronacharya College of Engineering have both been established around the same time and while Sharda University is approved by UGC, Dronacharya College of Engineering is AICTE approved. B.Tech. programs, especially CS, is one of the most demanded courses at these institutions.

Major job sectors for CS graduates include Engineering firms, academic institutions, Sales and Marketing firms, IT/Software Companies, etc. Graduates work as Software engineers, application developers, hardware engineers, and many more.

Tabulated below gives a brief about both the institutes:

Infrastructure and Facilities

• Sharda University: The modern campus is spread across 63 acres of land and provides facilities such as hostels, stores, pharmacy, hospital, transport, library, gym, laundry, salon, community radio, IT department, student activity centre, cafeteria, etc.

• Dronacharya College: The institute’s modern campus offers its students facilities such as hostels with 24 hours internet connectivity, recreation rooms, sports facilities, etc. It also provides a library with more than 38,000 books and a health or medical cell.

Scholarships

• Sharda University: Scholarships are provided on the basis of academic and sports merit, exam scores, and to the wards of Defence personnel and siblings of Sharda students.

• Dronacharya College: Scholarships offered under national schemes to meritorious and deprived students and to the siblings of present students of the college.

Placement Statistics

• Sharda University: 80% of students were placed overall. The highest salary package received is INR 65 LPA. 350+ recruiters, like Amazon, Videocon, Asian Paints, L&T, etc, recruit graduates from the university.

• Dronacharya College: Approximately 66% of students were placed in companies such as OYO, TCS, Zscaler, Capgemini, Wipro, Adobe, L&T, HSBC, UrbanClap, etc. The highest package offered to CS graduates was INR 10 LPA.

Those interested must thoroughly research and learn about both the institutes and then arrive at an informed decision as to which one will be the best for them. It depends on one’s academic merit and disposition and is a completely personal choice.

One of my friends graduated from Thapar University and here’s what I got to know from him. Firstly let me answer your question.

• At Thapar University, you need only your PCM marks of 12th boards to get admission through mode-2 if you have a good percentage in the board examinations.
• However, less than 93% in PCM is difficult for you. 
• You should have at least 92 to 93% in PCM (12th boards) to apply for the same.
• Since CSE is the most preferred branch at Thapar University the cutoffs are high. 
• I would suggest you attend all rounds then only you will get an idea of where you stand in the list.

You may get CSE through mode-2 counseling however the chances are moderate. So, try all the modes and in-person counseling.
