AM
Anwita Mitra Posted On : May 4th, 2021
Ph.D Information Technology, Amity University, Lucknow (2021)

It depends on the perspective of separate individuals. Below is a subjective preference order based on two different factors, i.e. campus popularities and fee structure. The list is based on the reviews I got from my friends at the institutes.

  1. Amity Noida- It is one of the oldest among every Amity campus.
  2. Amity Gurgaon- Amity Gurgaon is India's one of the greatest corporate hubs so the chances of placements are always tremendous. A special mention to the campus. It is simply beautiful and profound.
  3. Amity Lucknow
  4. Amity Jaipur
  5. Amity Gwalior

Also here is the list of Amity University branches based on fee structure ranging from high to low

Amity Noida> Amity Gurgaon> Amity Lucknow> Amity Jaipur> Amity Gwalior

What are the best colleges in AP (through AP EAMCET)?

SS
Siddarth Sethia Posted On : February 17th, 2021
Studies at Bundelkhand Institute Of Engineering And Technology (2020)

The quality of the university depends on which branch you plan to take. There are quite a few good options you can choose from. Some of the private colleges offer really good courses in computer science engineering and electronics and communication engineering as compared to government universities. Thus, my advice to you would be to select the branch that interests you and work from there to select the college you want to go for.

Reputed Colleges:

There are quite a few options you have to choose from after giving AP EAMCET. Some of the colleges based in Andhra Pradesh include the following.

JNTU Kakinada

Andhra University College of Engineering Vizag

SVU College of Engineering Tirupati

Gayatri Vidya Parishad

Anil Neerukonda Engineering College

RVR JC Guntur

VR Siddhartha Engineering College

JNTU Anantapur

Sree Didyaniketan Engineering College

Vignan University

Raghu Engineering College

Godavari Institute Engineering & Technology

These places will give you the knowledge and add value to your resume.

College-based on Branch:

If you are looking at a specific branch, for example, computer science and electronics and communication, some colleges are better.

  • These include Vignan University and Raghu Engineering college which will help you with placements. Here, some of the top product based companies with good packages hire students annually.
  • In case you are considering going for civil engineering, GMR Institute of Technology is a really good institute worth considering.

Other colleges you can look at are RVR JC Guntur, JNTU Anantapur, and VR Siddhartha Engineering College. Finally, have a look at the rankings and also try to get in touch with students from these colleges who can give you reviews regarding the place before you choose anything.

SB

lives in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India

In Allahabad, Gateforum is pretty reputed among GATE/IES aspirants. But the coaching goes on for long hours. You will be exhausted by the time, all the classes are done. If you can cope with their hectic schedule, go for it. Mechasoft is another coaching that you can check out.

What is the weightage given to previous academic records by XLRI, FMS, and IIFT during admission process?

ST
Shubham Tiwari Posted On : May 27th, 2021
studied at Xavier School of Management

IIFT Delhi does not give weightage to your performance in academics. Your admission will mainly depend on how well you perform in the written exam and GD-PI WAT. The entrance exam carries a weightage of around 65%, however, final admission will be given on cut-off.

As far as XLRI is concerned, the GP-PI call is highly based on what percentile you land up within the XAT. The cutoff is 95 percentile for the BM program and 93 percentile for HRM for male candidates. For females, this is 93 percentile for BM and 91 for the HRM program. But, when the college prepares the final merit list, 5% weightage is also given to past academics.

Overall, it is advisable to have a minimum of 60% score in your graduate exams so it does not hinder your future plans.

Which College should I Choose? VGEC, LJ, Charusat, MSU, or DDU?

CS
Chandrima Sethia Posted On : October 13th, 2021
Studied at Vishwakarma Government Engineering College (2016)

One of my friends studied from VGEC. According to him, the institute is not worth taking admission as branches such as IT and CS are also not good here. MSU and DDU are both really good colleges. The colleges are well known.

  • There hasn’t been any major change in the institution of VGEC in recent years.
  • Although, the aspirants may look for a second opinion from any recently studying student of this college.
  • The placements of both MSU and DDU are good.
  • Both of them can’t be ranked, as they both are equally good.
  • As MSU is located in Baroda, it gives a slight edge as there are a lot of companies in Baroda.
  • The IT market at Nadiad is not so flourished, thus placement can be unsure at DDU Nadiad.
  • Baroda on the other hand, has some really good IT companies, both product and service based.

One good thing is that both MSU and DDU are deemed. The campus is really good. The teaching faculties are extremely supportive. There are lots of examinations conducted, thus students need to work really hard.

How would you arrange these in terms of their campus size - CBIT, VASAVI, MVSR, VNR, SNIST, MGIT, and GRRR?

DK
Dheeraj Kumar Posted On : August 31st, 2021
Studied at Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology

The colleges can be arranged in terms of their campus size as follows:

  1. CBIT: The campus is spread across an area of 50-75 acres. In addition to that, Chaitanya Bharathi Educational Society has bought land opposite the college which is about 100 acres.
  2. VNR: The campus is about 50 acres.
  3. SNIST: The campus is built in about 33 acres of land as claimed by the college even though it seems to be pretty small.
  4. VASAVI: The college campus is spread across an area of 13 acres.

The quality of teaching matter will eventually matter rather than the campus area of a college. You must choose wisely.

Who can rate CAT, XAT, SNAP, IIFT, MICAT, TISS, or NMAT in terms of difficulty level?

RS
Rishi Sen Posted On : February 1st, 2021
PGDM Marketing and Finance, Institute of Management and Technology, Hyderabad (2021)

Among all these examinations, XAT is most difficult, followed by CAT. The difficulty level of the exams, in descending order (most difficult to easy) is XAT> CAT> IIFT> SNAP> TISS> NMAT.

Now, let us dive into a detailed analysis behind the assigned ranks and the difficulty level.

IIFT

  • The questions asked in IIFT are a mixture of moderate and difficult.
  • The struggle lies in the attainment of marks within the cut-off range, both total cut-off and individual section cut-off.
  • Therefore, the students have no option but to perform exceedingly well in all sections, GK included.
  • The acceptance rate of IIFT is comparably low, only 400 students get admitted out of 50000 students.

SNAP –

  • The entrance exam is easy but the tough part is to score marks that will be eligible for admission into Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, or SCHMID branch.
  • These are the branches which are of good quality, unlike the rest of them.

TISS

  • The exam pattern of TISS is easy but the GK section is the most dangerous part among them.
  • The questions asked in the GK section comprise both general knowledge and current affairs, therefore the portions are cover is endless.

NMAT

  • NMAT exam can be successfully cleared with proper preparation. The questions asked are conceptually based.
  • No negative marks are given for wrong answers, hence the students are free to attempt all the questions fearlessly.

MICAT is pretty easy. If you want a career in brand marketing and advertising it is necessary.

Therefore, from the above discussion, you can estimate the logic behind ranking the difficulty level of exams.

Can I prepare for JEE and IIM Indore IPM at the same time?

DD
Divya Dhara Posted On : August 27th, 2021
Studied at Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies, Pune (2019)

After doing my research about this on the internet, I can say that JEE and IPM are very different. Here are some things you should know about before making any decision.

  • If you are planning to join an engineering college, you should know that the JEE is the sole criteria for it along with your marks from your boards.
  • This exam will cover the most essential topics you need and you should be ready to give other entrances with the prep for JEE.
  • If you do well in the JEE, you will get into a promising engineering college.
  • When it comes to IPM IIM Indore, let me tell you that the course you are looking at is an integrated course initiated by the college.
  • The entrance test will include all the topics you will have studied in your higher secondary books.
  • You can also prepare for English and logic-based questions.
  • If you will be preparing for JEE, you shall be prepared for chemistry, math, and physics for sure as these subjects will overlap with the IPM entrance exam and could be easier in this test.
  • As far as languages are concerned, if you have good command of English, you are good to go.

JEE will help you enroll in an engineering course whereas you will enter into the field of management if you score well on the IPM. It finally boils down to your interests.

How difficult is it to get a loan for IMT Ghaziabad, MDI, MDI, IMI Delhi, or TAPMI?

DS
Deepak Saha Posted On : July 15th, 2021
Studied PGDM in Finance & Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance at International Management Institute (2019)

All the mentioned institutes are prestigious B-Schools of India apart from IIMs. The admission process in these institutes might be competitive. But getting a loan from a Nationalized Bank, once you secure a seat in any of them, is pretty simple.

There is a scheme by the central government called “Vidhya Dhanush (Vidya Lakshmi)” under which IMI, MDI, TAPMI, and IMT are Elite B-Schools. The highlights of the scheme are below.

  • The subsidized rate of interest on the loan is from 8.3% to 8.5% per annum.
  • There is no requirement for collateral.
  • It is an unsecured loan for a maximum of INR 3.5 crores.

My friend availed a loan from Canara Bank at a similar rate. You can consult with different banks to know more about their interest rates, special schemes, or eligibility based on your targeted B-School.

Another way to avail loan is through partnered banks of your institute. Usually, the nationalized banks nearby your institute have collaborations with it. All institutes do inform about the Education Loan scheme of the selected candidates. Here, the advantage is that the paperwork is fast and hassle-free.

In the end, it is the best idea to avail loan from the central government scheme. It is simpler to get an education loan, but you need to be vigilant while choosing among different options from multiple banks.

What is the dress code at IIST, BITS and NIT-Trichy?

DR
Dhiman Ram Posted On : September 1st, 2021
Studied at National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India (2018)

There is no dress code in BITS. One of my friends is from the Goa campus but I am pretty sure that things are the same across all three campuses. You can wear shorts and a t-shirt to the class.

In NIT Trichy, this depends on the professor whose class you're attending and depends on which year you are in. According to the classification –

  • In your 1st year, almost all professors will try to make you wear formals at the beginning of the year.
  • Slowly it'll reduce and they will only ask you to wear formal shirts at the very least.
  • Most of the teachers do not mind T-shirts but some of them are really against it.
  • In your 2nd, 3rd and final year you can just show up wearing casual pants and some shirts and T-shirts.

In IIST, you can wear whatever you want but it should be within the limits of decency as seen by the current society. So there are no strict rules regarding the dress codes.
