Both the universities mentioned here are private universities and have some excellent placement as well as academic records. Full time 4 year ECE UG degree is being provided by both of the colleges. Although as far as ECE is concerned RVCE is having an upper edge over the PES University as it has better faculty for the specified department.
Admissions: PES University offers a B.Tech and RV offers a BE course in ECE. Both the Colleges consider the marks of KCET or CET and the 12th marks by creating the merit list. The minimum requirement is 60% in class 12th with a good Karnataka CET score to get admission to both of these colleges.
Cut off the rank for ECE at these institutes are as follows.
PES University - 1000 in KCET
RVCE- 271 KCET
The first-year course fee for BTech ECE at PES University is 3.3 Lakhs, while the BE CSE at RVCE costs around 10 Lakhs per annum.
Placements: Both of these colleges have excellent placement records, but one thing which needs to be noted is that there are few core companies visiting the PES University, while RVCE is a bit better in terms of placement for the specific department ECE department due to the core companies visiting the campus every year.
RV College of Engineering-
According to the 2020 placement statistics the highest CTC was INR 52 LPA.
While the average package was 8.63 LPA.
Almost 249 Companies visited the campus with Deloitte, Adani Group, Kirloskar Oil Engines, Accenture, and Adobe Systems India Pvt Ltd, included.
PES University-
There were almost 56 participants in the campus placement with top recruiting companies like Deloitte, Amazon, JP Morgan, LinkedIn, Flipkart, Tech Mahindra, Mercedes Benz, Cleartrip, Intel, etc.
The highest package offered was of 48 LPA while the average package offered was of 6.8 LPA.
RVCE would be a bit better than PES University as far as the above statistics are noted. If one does not have any financial constraints as RV college of engineering is quite expensive, then it might be the best option for pursuing ECE.
KLE Technological University placements are good for CSE and ECE. Around 95% of students from these branches get placed each year. The highest CTC offered to the students of these branches is around INR 30 LPA. While the average CTC stays around INR 6.5 LPA. PwC, L&T, Infosys, Bosch, Toshiba, Google, etc. took part in the placement drive.
97 percentile outside Delhi for IIIT Delhi ECE — your chances are possible but it's tight. here's the full picture:
important thing first — IIIT Delhi is NOT part of JoSAA. it has its own separate admission through JAC Delhi counseling along with DTU, NSUT, NIT Delhi etc. a lot of outside-Delhi students miss this and only apply through JoSAA. make sure you register for JAC Delhi separately.
97 percentile = roughly rank 30,000-35,000 range. ECE at IIIT Delhi for outside Delhi candidates (non-Delhi quota) typically closes around rank 25,000-40,000 depending on the year. so you're in the marginal zone — might get it in later rounds, might not.
the good news — IIIT Delhi ECE students get great placement in software (the institute has a strong CS culture that ECE benefits from too). if you get it, it's worth it over most other options at this rank.

One of my cousins was selected for both M.Tech VLSI and MS by research and had the opportunity to appear for the interview. The interview was pretty simple and they seemed to test your ability to understand and explain things.
Here are some of the questions asked by the interviewers:
General Questions
Technical Questions
After this, they enquired him about his projects.
Overall, the panelists evaluated his academic history, ability to explain things, understanding of basic concepts, and willingness to learn.
Here are some details on the ECE department of VNIT Nagpur-
This is the basic information regarding the ECE department of VNIT. B.Tech ECE is thus, quite decent at this institute.
As a second year B.Tech ECE student at MNNIT Allahabad, I can answer this question for you.
The ECE curriculum is not updated, but the basics remain the same regardless. The teachers are, on an average, good and helpful. Getting decent grades is easier in ECE, as compared to other branches.
The Robotics Club and The Electronics Society are very active, and filled with extremely dedicated and helpful members. These clubs allot projects to their members, and track the progress on a regular basis. Even the department faculty takes keen interest in these projects. These projects are very interesting and innovative.
Core placements aren’t plenty, but students do get on campus internships and job offers from Qualcomm, TI, Airtel, Samsung etc. Other than that, the ECE department performs well in IT placements every year, and bags high paying jobs. The department alumni have made their space in various sectors- research, private sector, core sector, IES, GATE, entrepreneurship, etc. They are a source of inspiration to the department students.
The crowd at MNNIT Allahabad is great, and the college provides a rich environment for one’s growth. You can surely consider joining the ECE department of MNNIT.
One of my friends was in a similar dilemma last year when she had to choose between ECE at IGDTUW and NIT Delhi. She eventually chose NIT Delhi, Electrical, and Electronics branch, and has no regrets to date.
Sharing her experience she told me that since NIT Delhi operates from a temporary campus, it takes around 1 hour to reach college from the hostel. The Infrastructure isn’t very good but if you want the NIT tag, then NIT Delhi isn’t a bad choice.
Moreover, IGDTUW is an all-girls college while NIT Delhi is co-ed. So make your choice after looking at all the aspects.
ECE is one of the toughest departments of NIT Calicut. It stands right behind the CSE department for opening and closing ranks.
Thus, the ECE department of NIT Calicut is very strict for academics and the placement scenario is not good for core profiles.
