Is the MBA tech course offered by NMIMS Mumbai Certified?
The MBA Tech. program is specially designed to meet this growing need. It is an integrated course that comprises B.Tech and MBA. It is to be completed in a tenure of 5 years (3+2 years).
- The engineering degree is to be completed in 3 years with 15+ subjects each semester and MBA will be completed in 2 years.
- All programs of MPSTME are approved by the AICTE.
- The faculty for management is the same as the core students of NMIMS.
The student will receive 2 degrees at the end of 5 years:-
- B.Techfrom NMIMS University.
- MBA in Technology specialized in the particular subject you choose in your 4th year for Management Studies.
The integrated degree has more potential than a general degree acquired at any of the rival colleges Like Manipal, VIT, SRM, etc. The tag of NMIMS is also an added advantage. This degree will always have an upper hand over the normal B.Tech degree.
How is the Engineering Science course at IIT Hyderabad?
B.Tech in Engineering Sciences is a unique program that is being offered in India for the first time. Its uniqueness lies in the wide spectrum of specializations it offers enabling you to explore all your interests and options.
- Course Structure: The basic structure of the course comprises basic sciences like Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and different engineering disciplines including Computer Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Chemical Engineering in the initial years. After 2 years, you are left to choose a specialization of your choice.
- Suitability: This course is for those who are in a dilemma regarding the choice of branches but you are willing to explore various fields. It’s definitely worth the risk.
- Curriculum: The first year is similar to other branches. The second year comprises courses from all disciplines like data structures, electrical circuits, solid and fluid mechanics, digital signal processing, etc. The third year will require you to choose the specialization in which you will be doing your courses. It's better to sort your interest by the end of the second year as you will be required to make a project related to your specialization in the 4th year.
- Choice of Specialization: Students of this program are given complete freedom to choose their specialization and there aren’t any rules regarding the number of people opting for a branch, or a CGPA criteria to get into a branch.
- Campus Life: It’s important to know that your branch has zero relationships with the campus life you will be experiencing. Students of all specializations stay in the same place, enjoy the same facilities, living with the same people.

Is Mizoram University a good option for a B.Tech?
One of my friends studied at Mizoram University (MZU). According to him, it is not a good choice to opt for MZU to pursue engineering.
Here are some reasons why:
- The infrastructure is not at par with other Government Funded Technical Institutions (GFTIs).
- Students are not allowed to use the multimedia lab, also they lack updated technologies.
- The curriculum is obsolete and does not match with the latest industrial requirements.
- The content that is taught here will not extend your skill set or make you more employable.
- In the final year, every student is required to undergo Industrial Training for a minimum of 30 days and a maximum of 45 days. There is no scope for any internships.
- The faculty members are not competent and lack fundamental knowledge of their respective subjects.
- The hostels often face insufficient electricity and water supply.
- The mess food is not at all hygienic. Students have complained to authorities about these issues but they pay no attention to them.
- The wifi connection is also unstable.
- Placements are not up to the mark. Getting placed in service-oriented companies like Wipro, TCS, etc. is seen as an accomplishment.
Therefore, it is suggested that you do not opt for MZU to study engineering, because it will not be worthwhile. As you will learn less and even fall out of job opportunities.
What are the minimum passing marks at RGPV University for the BE program?
RGPV (Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya) minimum passing marks for BE:
- Theory papers: minimum 40 out of 100 (40%) to pass each subject
- Sessional/Internal marks: minimum 40% to pass the internal component
- Practical/lab: minimum 40% to pass practicals
- Combined: for passing a subject, you need minimum marks in both theory and internal separately — you cannot compensate one with the other

You will be asked fundamental STEM questions. The difficulty level will be basic to moderate in general. Sometimes they ask hard questions too like curve tracing in Mathematics. Prepare Mathematics fundamentals, Physics basics, Current affairs, and GK in depth.

What is the pass mark in Osmania University for the BE 1st SEM?
One of my friends had studied at Osmania University.
In the latest CBCS system that was being introduced in the year 2016, you must get 40% of the total marks. In other words, if you get a total of 40 marks including your external and internal in all of the subjects, then you will pass the semester.
Earlier, that is, before 2016, students had to score a minimum of 28 marks in the external examination to pass the semester.
The current rule is that, if you get 40 marks overall (Internal + external) then you will pass whereas the internal assessment is on 30 marks.
Which one is better for a B.Tech Assam Engineering College or Tezpur University?
It is better to go for B.Tech at Tezpur University (TU) than Assam Engineering College (AEC). Following are the reasons for the same:
- TU has great faculty and infrastructure, and you will get a lot of exposure.
- The only drawback is the lack of placements. Being a new institution very few companies visit the college.
- AEC on the other hand, is very old, and has a strong alumni network.
- Placement is better at AEC compared to TU, but still it keeps fluctuating which makes students unsure.

If your aim is to get a job right after your graduation, then you should join AEC. But if you are interested more in research and exposure and want to opt for higher studies, TU will be a better option.
