If you are considering pursuing an M.Tech CSE degree, Pondicherry University can be a good option for you. You will have access to all the necessary equipment and resources required for your research.
It is essential to understand that in higher education, the responsibility of completing assignments and submitting them on time falls on you. Your professors will not be running behind you to ensure that you meet deadlines. Therefore, it is crucial to be proactive in managing your time and meeting your responsibilities.
While your professors will provide guidance and support, it is ultimately your responsibility to follow up on their guidance and carry out your research. You should not expect them to spoon-feed you or teach you everything from A to Z.
The most critical aspect of succeeding in any university is to adhere to the rules and regulations set by the university and focus on studying. If you put in the effort and dedication required, you can make the most out of your M.Tech CSE degree at Pondicherry University.
One of my friends graduated from Pondicherry University and having read a few online reviews regarding this topic, I would suggest some things.
Securing a seat in Central University requires preparation strategically. So if you want to clear the Pondicherry university entrance exam just prepare according to the syllabus. Thorough preparation for a month will make things easier.
The wise choice would be to go with your interests or the location which would be favorable for you as both these universities are really good. Still, to choose any one of them, let's have a look at the following points:
Pondicherry University:
IISER Berhampur or Tirupati:
As both the universities have their own advantages and disadvantages, choosing any one of them can get quite hectic. If you are comfortable in getting into newer institutes then you can go with IISERs. But according to the alumnus, for undergraduate studies colleges do not matter that much, it depends on you individually, anyways no matter whichever College you choose they will have few drawbacks, you have to make sure that you work hard, grab opportunities and make the best out of them.
There is no placement history for our course. The main department offering placement in the campus is mba . They have the highest placement history . Also MCA people have placements . Companies like tcs , hdfc bank etc visit. Approximately 50% students get placement. Since there is no placement in our department , I'm planning to take masters.
Pondicherry University maintains a professional and approachable academic environment, typically characterized by a faculty-to-student ratio ranging from 1:18 to 1:25 depending on the specific department. Faculty members are widely regarded as highly qualified, with approximately 97% holding PhD degrees, and they are often described as friendly and helpful, especially in laboratory settings. Students have specifically highlighted Ganesh Sir (as noted in your experience) and Dr. Shankar in Biochemistry for their ability to explain complex concepts from the basics up. While most professors are easily accessible, some students have noted that senior faculty can be quite busy, leading them to rely on supportive PhD scholars for day-to-day guidance.
As i already mentioned it was a small campus, not much Events or activities going on. It doesn't mean nothing at all , yearly events like 'anekharagam' restarted from our batch. Sports events are also there but the students have to take responsibility and do all the necessary arrangements for this to happen. It mostly depends upon the batch, if the students are active there would be events . And about technologies or infrastructure, the campus have enough infrastructure development required for the student strength.
Rooms are shared by two people, and have a cupboard for each person. The warden visit the hostel like once in a blue moon. Registration process for hostel was very easy and all , I don't even remember doing it. The meal quality was not upto the standard. Sometimes it's good , sometimes it's crap. We get non-veg biryani every Sunday and that's a relief and also chicken curry every Thursday. The meals are atleast not same everyday that's a relief.
