The Centre for Law & Economics (CLE) at GNLU is a Centre of excellence for research and training in the discipline of Law & Economics. The Centre values rigorous work in the discipline, and aims to promote awareness of and research in the field.
It carries out courses and conferences for scholars, practitioners and students, apart from publications on economic analysis of contemporary legal issues. It aims to produce quality prescriptions for legislators, regulators and government departments, and to provide clear explanations and guidance to businesses and ordinary citizens alike.
The Centre for Law and Economics at GNLU has always tried to reach out to bright and young minds who have a keen interest in employing economic tools and theories for legal analysis. Some of these efforts can be seen at the CLE’s web page for past events. GNLU offers a Ph.D. degree course in Economics to promote academic skill and research vigor in the fields of Economics and Law.

The Mission of the GNLU Law and Economics Center is to spread awareness among the general public at large, about this field of study. Doing so can play a crucial role in making the Indian Legal System more efficient.
The head of the GNLU Sports Committee is Dr. Sugnesh Chudasama. Apart from the head (Convenor), there are two other members in the GNLU Sports Committee. They are- Dr. Niyati Pandey and Mr. Tarun Singh.
The Sports Committee of GNLU Gandhinagar was established in 2008 with the vision to develop sports culture among the students of the university. The new campus of GNLU brought with it improved infrastructure for sports, and the Sports Committee took this as the perfect launching pad to take sports activities at GNLU to new heights.
Each year, plenty of students graduate from GNLU and get the tag of a lawyer. They all are a part of the alumni association of GNLU Gandhinagar. At present, GNLU has around 1,400 alumni. All these former students of GNLU are building a successful career for themselves in various streams.
Darshan Ashwin Trivedi is a well-known alumnus of GNLU. He is an Indian film director and academician, and is best known for his contribution to the Gujarati Cinema. He has worked in some good films like Mrugtrushna, Keri, Lakiro, etc.
In 2022, four graduates of GNLU cleared the exam for Civil Judge in the Gujarat Lower Judiciary. The names of these graduates are- Aditya Gor, Aakanksha Parashar, Prakhar Gautam and Priya Kumari Kala.

The process of admission is direct, and interested candidates can directly contact the university for the same. The eligibility criteria is that the candidate must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university, and the duration of the courses is 1 year. The classes will be held every weekend, barring public holidays.
The Gujarat National Law University or GNLU conducts entrance-based admissions. The university offers 18 courses at the UG, PG, PhD and PG diploma level.
