Living at ABES EC in Ghaziabad is an experience that blends both personal and academic growth. It's not just about the college or you individually; it's the combination of both that shapes your time there. As a soon-to-be graduate who commutes daily, I've enjoyed my time based on my expectations and what I consider fun.
The campus has everything you might need. You'll meet new people, share stories, and make memories. Some folks might criticize the college and its vibe, but remember, you're part of that environment, and it transforms with you. The great thing about this place is that you can find your interests and explore them.
There are rules, and they can be strict, but I've seen classmates adjust and pursue their passions. Being an engineering college, it's expected that you'll develop multiple skills, even if you start with just a few. The first year might be challenging, but once you enter your department in the second year, things get more enjoyable. The college offers a variety of facilities for academics, extracurricular activities, and events. If something's missing, you have the chance to create it. Academics are a priority here, which is why this question comes up, and it's the balance of studies and activities that defines the college.
While ABES EC may not be the top college, if you find yourself there and complain, the issue might be more with you than the institution. It's about what you've done to get there. For hostelers, life is even cooler. They enjoy more freedom, friends become like family, and they form lasting bonds. They spend sleepless nights playing games, discussing issues, and cramming before exams. You might meet some difficult people, but they'll become part of your circle, and you'll share a special connection with them.
Ultimately, your life at this college is what you make of it. There are positives and negatives, but it's up to you to either adapt or make changes. And just so you know, I'm sharing my honest experience from the last three years, without any incentive.
ABES Engineering College is pretty well-known among private colleges in Uttar Pradesh. It was set up in 1999 by Mr. Ved Prakash Goel and is seen as a prestigious institution. The college is linked with AKTU and has AICTE approval. They offer both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. It's ranked among the top 10 institutes under UPTU.
The campus is quite large, with modern labs, a library, and roomy classrooms. While it's primarily an engineering college, they also provide management courses. Admissions are relatively straightforward if you clear the JEE Mains or UPSEE Exams. The fees are fairly reasonable, with the annual tuition fee around ?1,10,000. This fee is just for tuition, and it can change depending on the specific course you choose.
I graduated from ABES Engineering College, so I can share what it's really like.
Placements:
In your third year, a few companies will start visiting, but you'll see more frequent visits in your fourth year. Right now, big companies like TCS, Tech Mahindra, and Accenture aren't hiring in large numbers. Most companies offer roles like Business Development Associate for CSE/IT students or sales roles like telecommunication or executive engineer, with salaries around 3.5 LPA. However, some good companies do come offering packages over 7 LPA. One thing that works in the college's favor is its location, which draws many startups from the NCR area.
Attendance:
Having been through this myself, I can tell you that the attendance policy is strict. You need to maintain at least 75% attendance, and there are no exceptions. I used to skip classes a lot and often had less than 50% attendance. The college doesn't let that slide. They send warning letters to your home about low attendance and may even bar you from taking the ST exams each semester. So, it's important to keep an eye on your attendance!
If you're dreaming big, ABES Ghaziabad might not totally meet your expectations. Life there is somewhat quieter compared to other colleges in the same category. Here’s why:
Still, after spending four memorable years there, I can say there are some positives too. The college offers a competitive environment. Students find cool hangout spots like Pandit Ji's Khoka, Dundahera, Shipra Mall, and Chngezi Chicken near Ghantaghar. If you find a passion and focus on your studies, you can excel in many areas. I personally picked up interview skills and improved my behavior through personality development classes, which have been really useful in real life.
In summary, it's a good place for average students, and you'll likely leave wiser and perhaps happier than when you started.
Don't even consider ABES EC if you're serious about building a career.
Here's why:
If you're looking for positives, the only decent things are the ground (where you can't play), the auditorium, and the cafeterias. That's about it for ABES.
To sum it up, if you want to be an "Engineer," forget ABES. But if you're just looking to get a "B.Tech," then you're welcome here. My advice is to not even think about coming here.
It's a solid choice for newcomers. The college tends to have strong placement records, especially in Computer Science, Information Technology, and Electronics and Communication. If you're considering joining ABES-EC, I'd say it's a pretty good option.
