What should I take a CSE at IIITD or a CSE at IIT Ropar or IIT Dhanbad?
IIT institutions will always have a better tag in terms of reputation and value of degree when it comes to choosing between any other universities. Although IIT Patna and IIT Dhanbad are fairly new branches of IIT, the services and quality of education is rapidly improving and has become almost equivalent to some of the old IIT institutes.
Faculty at IIITD is much better than the IITs but one of my friends opted for IIT Patna seeing the ‘IIT’ tag. The CSE branch is constantly improving every year and choosing an IIT campus will ensure a diverse, highly academic and comparatively better peer group to be part of.

Features:
IIT Dhanbad and IIT Ropar offer much better campus with modern infrastructure, updated lab facilities, excellent faculty members, huge library resources, good hostel facilities and more.
Student Life:
IIT campuses are clearly known for conducting the best extra-curricular activities and events. They conduct cultural fests, workshops and seminars as part of the teaching module and also have multiple inter-disciplinary activities across the semester.
Branches:
- IIT campuses offer a higher number of branch specializations and also offers programs in niche subjects, which gives students more options to choose from based on their choice of study.
- The institutions are backed by research facilities to encourage students to take up research as part of their module if preferred.
Placements:
- The placements at IIT are much more diverse in terms of number of companies and types of companies that take part.
- They offer much more job opportunities with core companies within the CSE department.
- Some of the top recruiters are Amazon, Capgemini and Adobe.
Therefore, given a choice, students must choose to opt for an IIT campus as compared to IIITD. Delhi has an advantage due to its location but IITs surpasses all the factors.
What should I take, CSE at IIT Ropar or IIT Dhanbad?
One of my friends was in a similar dilemma when he got both CSE at IIIT Delhi and CSE at IIT Patna.
Although he lived in Delhi, he did not choose IIIT Delhi and went for IIT Patna instead. There were a number of reasons why he chose Patna.
- He wanted to avail the benefits of the IIT tag.
- He believed that the new IITs are developing at a fast rate and in a few years, their CSE departments would be at par with that of old IITs.
- IITs also have a better crowd because of the high cutoffs.
- IIT Patna being a government-funded college, has amazing infrastructure, placements, facilities, and labs.
- When it comes to cultural fests, nothing can beat the IITs.
- IITs have more interdisciplinary activities which aid in research and also give you an insight into the other departments.
Ultimately, Delhi has a better location but that is outweighed by the IIT tag.
Which is better, IIT Kharagpur for CSE or IIT Delhi for maths and computing?
If I leave my biases towards Delhi as a city aside. I would choose CSE at IIT KGP over MNC at IITD.
- Top 5 IITs are more or less equal in every aspect. Placements are also almost the same for equivalent branches.
- Highest Package for CSE at IIT Kharagpur 2024 is 2.68 CPA offered by Amazon.
- Median salary at IIT Kharagpur CSE is 24 LPA.
- Median salary at IIT Delhi MNC is 20 LPA.
- MNC is one of the toughest branches in engineering while CSE requires comparatively less effort.
- More companies Come to campus for CSE placements like HFCL, Microsoft and KPMG.
- CSE offers more opportunities to several fields like AI/ML, data science, etc.
What should be my best pick, CSE at MNIT Jaipur or IT at MNNIT Allahabad?
Both the colleges are well-renowned. But there are certain things I would like to bring to your notice-
As per college rankings, MNNIT is the top NIT in North India. It witnesses very good placements in IT/CSE. The average package for IT is almost at par with that for CSE. This year, the average package was around 24 LPA for IT and 27 LPA for CSE. The CSE students at MNIT Jaipur receive comparatively way lower packages.
At MNNIT, CS, and IT students have the same curriculum till 2nd year. Even after the 2nd year, only 1 or 2 subjects are different. The coding culture is great, and coders perform really well on various platforms like CodeChef, HackerEarth, Hackerrank, etc.
I would recommend you choose IT at MNNIT Allahabad.
Where can I get assignments given to CSE students at IIIT Hyderabad?
IIIT Hyderabad assignments are usually released in a platform called Moodle which has been created solely for the purpose of sharing study materials among the IIIT Hyderabad students. To access this platform you need to be an IIIT Hyderabad student and have connection to IIIT Hyderabad LAN and credentials.
It’s difficult to procure these assignments on the internet as they are available on the institute's intranet only. So, if you aren’t a student here, try getting help from one.
Which 2nd generation IIT (among Patna, Ropar, Gandhinagar, and Mandi) will be best for CSE?
Among the second-generation IITs, Mandi would be a good option for the CSE branch. Even if you get other branches in Mandi, you have the option of changing branches to CSE after your first year.
The students are flooding to IIT Mandi for a seat in CSE, as they offer good placement support. Many recruiters are offering high-salary jobs to the students who completed CSE at IIT Mandi.
For research scholars, IIT Mandi is the perfect choice. The college also has efficient faculties and mind-blowing facilities. The campus is spread across 520 acres in an eco-friendly atmosphere.
What is better EE at IIT Kanpur or CSE at IIT Roorkee?
Both EE at IIT Kanpur and CSE at IIT Roorkee are well-recognized academic institutions in India. However, the choice between EE at IIT Kanpur and CSE at IIT Roorkee completely depends on your career goals and preferences.
- IIT Roorkee is a better choice as it is one of the oldest institutions and holds 5th rank by NIRF ranking in 2023.
- The total course fee for 4 years of BTech CSE is INR 893400.
- The placement opportunity offered by IIT Roorkee is very positive.
- The highest package offered to students is INR 2.03 CPA by the company Databricks.

How is the B.Tech in CSE at NIT Hamirpur?
NIT Hamirpur BTech in CSE is one of the most coveted programs of the institute. Contrary to the rumors, the institute has a well-established coding culture. Many students qualify for the G-SOC every year. Moreover, regular hackathons and coding competitions are conducted by seniors and their peers, thereby rendering a competitive coding environment.
The fact is students of NIT Hamirpur are more indulged in traveling, and trekking, that they fail to notice the academic benefits of the institute. The pleasant climate offers a great environment for various physical and intellectual activities. Coders and researchers from NIT Hamirpur have made it to many international events. Many have even bagged foreign internship offers.

I feel it’s better to check your own class rather than blaming the institute. Without hard work, a positive attitude, and wisdom you cannot excel even at a top IIT. Overall, the institute is great with many internationally renowned researchers.
How is Vignan University for computer science?
Hearing about Vignan University from one of my friends. I can say that his overall experience there was not that good. Here are some of the reasons why:
- The students aren’t treated well and caste discrimination is everywhere around the campus.
- Many students have witnessed that the chairman of the college himself is into such practices.
- There are strict rules that have to be followed by the students.
- If the students fail to attend the class during the study hours, their attendance will be cut without any prior notice.
- No extracurricular activities take place in the college.
- Sometimes students get indulged in bad habits such as gamblings.
- The college will keep on charging high amounts in the form of fees and they charge different amounts from different students.
- The placement opportunities are also not good.
Thus, it is advised that don’t choose this college as it will only waste your valuable time and money. Keep looking at other colleges which are better than Vignan University.
Should I prefer CSE at NIT Calicut or ECE at NIT Warangal?
Choosing between CSE and ECE is a matter purely based on personal inclinations. While one branch may be good for you, it may not be for someone else, and vice versa.
However, in terms of both academics and placements, NIT Warangal clearly has the upper hand. NIT Warangal is among the top 3 NITs and is better than NIT Calicut in almost every aspect. Its laboratory facilities and faculty are among the best.

Although NIT Calicut has an edge in terms of the highest CTC, NIT Warangal's average package beats it. Average packages are a better means of evaluating the placement scenario, and that being said, NIT Warangal is a better option.
