One of my friends graduated from IIM Indore and here are some things about WAT that might be useful to you.
My friend had given the IPM twice, so for IPM WAT 2018 he had the topic on “Violence over Women” and for IPM WAT 2019, he had the topic “Technology”, candidates had to write for or against the motion. Sticking to the topic and giving a valid argument would support your write-up.
No matter whether you study inboth programs. It entirely depends on your interest in the subject. If you are interested in agriculture or in the food sector then think nothing and go for the FABM program but if you are not interested in this field then you can go with the general PGP program at IIM Indore or Kozhikode.

It might be that the average salary of IIM Kozhikode and Indore be slightly more than that of IIM Ahmedabad FABM program but it has been estimated that in the coming years the student of the FABM program will come across some good and great opportunities
Well, getting into the IPM program of 5 years in IIM Indore is itself quite an intense feeling. But, believe me, every course has its own pros and cons. But, I can certainly say you won’t regret it if you are all clear to set out with IPMAT.
Here are the few demerits which are negligible before the numerous merits of the IPM program:
Though it sounds intense but it has its own worth and definitely after graduating you receive an opportunity in a top-notch company. After transitioning to a degree course, the demand for pursuing IPM has increased extensively.
IIMs and IITs are completely different brands. While IIMs offer management studies, the forte of IITs is engineering studies. So it is not wise to compare the placements of IIM Indore with those of the IITs.
As per the consolidated report of IIM Indore, here are the 2023 placement stats for its PGP and IPM courses-
Thus, IIM Indore is a great choice for your management studies. But make sure to choose your career path based on your goals and vision, instead of simply looking at the placement stats of various colleges.
MICA is an excellent choice for Digital Marketing and Advertising. The institute has a great faculty base. The placement opportunities offered are pretty good. MICA placements 2022 ended with an average CTC of INR 19 LPA. While the highest CTC offered was INR 57.51 LPA.
If you aren’t sure about specialization and want to explore different domains, choosing IIM Indore will be better.
One of my friends graduated from IIM Indore and having read online reviews of the alumni here are some facts that might answer your query.
It seems a bit difficult to get a call from IIM Indore at 81 percentile. But I am not sure and won't be able to make any comments till you don't provide more information like your past academics, undergraduate background, work experience, category, etc.
If you happen to be a student from the reserved category then yes, you may get a call with a percentile of 81. But this also depends on your marks scored in the 10th and 12th board exams as well.
Also, a piece of factual information that IIM Indore gives more weightage to the academic scores in the 10th and 12th boards exams.
Speaking of what roles you will be appointed for, the preferences varies from company to company, even though it can be generalized by the sectors.
Recruitment depends on their understanding of your capability in the roles they want you to perform. So, an employee with prior work experience would be well suited for sales posts across the country while someone who does not lack prior work experience will be a good fit for roles that involve handling clients; for example, a consulting profile or B2B sales.
Yes, the IPM IIM Indore entrance exam can be prepared in 10 months. Some of my friends who joined IIM Indore and opted for IPM prepared for the exam in only 9-10 months.
Although, your level of participation could not be measured in months, but can be determined by the number of hours you put in each day. Many students used to enroll in the course for the year and then choose to drop out. But on the other hand students who are from crash courses are seen to reach their goal.
All in all, concentrate on your studies. Make a proper strategy by selecting the topics which are your strengths and weaknesses and solve them accordingly. Learn time management as this will be very beneficial. Finally, you can also look for a mentor to guide you through the process.
The IIM-Indore's IPM (Integrated Program in Management) is a five-year undergraduate program that provides a comprehensive education in management studies along with foundational knowledge in liberal arts, humanities, and social sciences. Upon completion of the program, students earn a dual degree of Bachelor of Arts (Foundations of Management) and Master of Business Administration (MBA).
The IPM program is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue careers in various industries such as finance, marketing, operations, consulting, and entrepreneurship.
However, if you are interested in pursuing further studies after completing the IPM program, there are several options available to you:
In conclusion, there are several opportunities for further studies after completing IIM-Indore's IPM program. You can choose to pursue an MBA, a master's degree in a specialized field, a PhD, or professional certifications to enhance your knowledge and skills in management studies and increase your career prospects.
IIM Indore and Delhi Technical University (DTU) are both very good institutes for their respective courses. The better option among the two will be DTU if the student is not interested in either the Management course or a tech course. A close senior of mine got a choice between DTU IT course and IPM course in IIM Indore and he decided to go with It course in DTU because: -
Categories | IPM at IIM Indore | B.Tech in CS at DTU |
Course Fee | 26 lakh | 7.81 lakh |
Course Duration | 5 years | 4 years |
Highest CTC | 25-28 LPA | 15-20 LPA |
Average CTC | 14 LPA | 8-10 LPA |
Recruiting Companies | ICICI Bank, Nestle, Asian Paints, American Express, etc. | Capgemini, Wipro, Infosys, IBM, etc. |
The IPM course now has been converted into a degree course, But still, students usually prefer the 4-year B.Tech course rather than the 5-year long IPM course. If you want to study management after your class 12, then IPM will be a good option for you.
