This year I took admission to the MTech program at IIEST Shibpur. Next year, can I use the same GATE score to transfer to an MTech at a better institute? If so, will my GATE scholarship be continued?
Yes, you can take admission even after two years in any other college or university as now GATE score is valid for 3 years. But few colleges keep the GATE scorecard until the course finishes. So if this is your case then you can leave or cancel the course and you will get your scorecard back. But when you take admission in any new college or university, you have to start again from 1st year. You cannot continue from where you left at your previous college.
Also, you should note that now adding an Aadhaar card to the GATE portal is mandatory so that they can track you if you qualify for GATE again and take admission with the new score.
What are the scholarships provided by IIT Roorkee for an UG student?
A large number of scholarships are provided to IIT Roorkee students to help financially weak people.
James Thomsan Scholarship is one among the list and the eligibility criteria for the same are
- Students with AIR up to 300.
- The top rankers of every department given that his/her All India Rank is within 500.
Provision: The James Thomson Scholarship provides INR 25000/- per month for his/her complete program provided that he/she secured a minimum of 8 CGPA every year
- SC/ST/PH are eligible for a full Tuition fee waiver off.
- 100% Tuition fee waive off and a stipend of Rs. 250/- per month for 10 months only for GEN and OBC students provided that the total family income is less than 1 LPA
- 2/3 Tuition fee waived off for GEN and OBC students given that their family income is between 1 lakh to 5 LPA.

Does IIT Delhi award scholarships for lower-income-group students?
IIT Delhi provided Merit-Means scholarships to its students under which, free-of-cost education is imparted to students belonging to families with income lower than INR 4.5 Lakhs. In addition, students are given a 1000k monthly stipend. However, the mess fees are not waived and students have to pay them despite the scholarship.

Are there any scholarships offered at BITS, Pilani based on any marks scored in the BITSAT exam?
No, at BITS Pilani candidates are not given scholarships based on BITSAT score but at BITS, Dubai the scholarships are offered based on the BITSAT score. It is to be noted that the scholarship based on the BITSAT score can be availed only in the first year of the entire academic session at the Dubai campus. To get the scholarship based on the BITSAT score, students must have scored a minimum of 200 marks in the exam.

Government Scholarship: The NTSE and KVPY scholarship by the government are available only for M.Sc. students.
Merit-Based Scholarship: This type of scholarship is purely based on the candidate's performance in the semester exam. Based on the CGPA, students get % relaxation in the tuition fee. The % relaxation may vary year after year.

How much scholarship will I get with 95.6% in CBSE boards in Thapar University?
Thapar University provides three kinds of merit scholarships. You fall in the first category.
Category 1 consists of students with 95% and more in their 12th exam. This is the eligibility requirement. The scholarship is actually given on the basis of JEE Mains score of the eligible candidates. This means that the top 25 students as per JEE Mains scores who also attained 95% and more in their +2 are awarded this scholarship.
Through this scholarship, the students’ tuition and development fees are waived off. To keep getting this scholarship throughout their degree, the students need to maintain 8.5 or more CGPA without any backlogs.

Does Manipal University provides scholarship for UG students?
After completing his higher secondary exams, my friend got into the Department of Commerce at Manipal University. He appeared for the ENAT entrance exam and he secured a national rank of 05.
When he got the letter of admission, the amount he was requested to pay was a lot lower than what was mentioned in the prospectus of the university. Every year, his fees were significantly lower than the normal fee.
He asked the head of the department if he had been granted a scholarship. It was only after he asked the finance department of the university did he come to know that he was granted a scholarship of merit. He was awarded this scholarship probably because his rank was between the 1st and 4th positions. A good rank in the entrance exams will make you eligible for scholarships.
Is it difficult or easy to take scholarships from Thapar University?
At Thapar University, scholarships are offered under 2 categories
- Board score: Candidates whose board score is above 95% are eligible for this scholarship. Under this, the entire tuition and development fee is paid by the institute. Other scholarships under this category have a reduction of fees for a board score between 90–95% also. Students are eligible for this scholarship if they maintain an aggregate CGPA of 8.5 every year.
- CGPA Score: This category of scholarship is for students who make it to the top 10% of the students in terms of CGPA in their respective branches. In the first year, you will be evaluated on the basis of your JEE Main score.
The level of difficulty in availing of these scholarships depends on the category you fall into. Comparatively, the first category is easier as you need to maintain a CGPA of 8.5 while for the second one, you need a CGPA of at least 9.5+ to consistently make it into the top 10% of students in your batch.
What are the scholarships available at MNNIT allahabad?
There are a number of scholarship programs available for you at MNNIT Allahabad. Check out the following and their details below.
- NSP (National Scholarship): This scholarship is provided by the govt. of India. You can fill the form online at their official website and then get it verified at Dean Student Welfare. This is open to all students and you can easily apply in the first year itself and it gets renewed every year.
- State Scholarships: Many state governments provide scholarships to students pursuing any technical course like B tech. It all depends on which state you belong to. The scholarship by UP govt. is the most popular one at MNNIT. Besides MP, Rajasthan is also an example. State scholarship for students from Bihar is available online on the NSP portal.
- Student welfare of MNNIT provides scholarships to meritorious students each year. You don’t need to surpass any income level to avail this scholarship. It is given to the top 10% of students of each branch considering their CPI. For first years or fresher's, JEE main rank is the criteria. For this, you are supposed to have a general rank <4000 or around.
- Student Welfare of MNNIT also provides scholarships if you do not possess good financial conditions. To avail of this scholarship, you need to prove with an income certificate stating less than a lakh per year. You should also have a CPI greater than 7.5. This scholarship amounts to about 20,000 rupees.
- Students from JNVs have special scholarships for them. ‘Samsung' provides scholarships, especially for Navodayans.
- CSS or Central Sector Scholarship is provided to SC/ST students.
- ‘Schneider Electric' provides scholarships to 2nd-year students of Electrical Engg and ECE. You need to provide an income certificate of less than 2 lakh. This one is based on your application form and online interview followed by a telephone interview.
Please mind that you need to fulfill certain eligibility criteria to apply for these scholarships which are mentioned in detail on their official websites. Also, note that you can apply for only one scholarship, not more than that. So, check which one of these is the most suitable for you and apply for that only.
I am selected in IISER Mohali this year. Now I want to apply for INSPIRE scholarship which requires an endorsement certificate signed by the head of the institute. How can I get that?
IISER Mohali offers INSPIRE scholarship to students of BSc, BSC (Hons), Int. MSc, or BS courses for some particular subjects. In IISER, you will not have to arrange for an endorsement certificate. The administration will take care of all the formalities. The academic office will assist you through the entire process.
