BITS, Pilani EEE or IIT-BHU Mechanical?
I would always recommend you to go for BITS Pilani EEE over IIT BHU Mechanical. Here are a few points justifying my stance.
Academics: BITS Pilani EEE curriculum is modern and as per industry standards. The branch has a highly qualified pool of professors who make use of modern teaching methodologies and conduct lively sessions. the number of top-tier MS in EE, the infrastructure, and top-notch placements all prove the same. The infrastructure at IIT BHU is deteriorating and the labs are equipped with obsolete instruments bringing down the academic quality of the institute.
Network: BITS has a very elaborate alumni network and gives an edge to IIT BHU.The BITS network (BITSAA) is very well organized and the close-knit nature of the BITSian community is rarely matched by IITs.
Brand: Society in general considers the IIT tag to be of superior quality whereas the recruiters and top universities are aware of the BITS influence and thus it enjoys an equally good brand name. Moreover, the IIT branch seems to have diluted with the increase in batch size and the opening of new IITs. The top recruiters know the difference between old and new IITs and thus the packages offered are different. BITS is known for its cutting-edge infrastructure and no-reservation policy.
Overall, BITS is the best option for you!
Which is better, NIT Trichy (EEE), NIT Surathkal (ECE), or IIIT Allahabad (CSE)?
EEE from NIT Trichy is the best option. NIT Trichy’s EEE department is well known and is highly demanded by the students. However, choosing your specialisation also depends on your area of interest. If your interest lies in electrical gadgets, their working, power supply and all those related things then only pursue this course. Always remember that you will have to take up this degree for four years and if you do not enjoy it then you will never learn from it. In NIT Trichy, you will get to learn about the subject as well as experience it through the different practical sessions. You will be encouraged to work on your projects and create something new.
I got 362 marks in BITSAT. Which is better, BITS, Pilani electrical or BITS, Goa CS?
Well, assuming that your 1st preference is CS at Pilani. EEE at Pilani is arguably one of the most difficult branches out there. Based on the conversations I had with my friends from both the BITS campus, here is what I can tell you about the courses.
- You generally have to compete with the top students on the Campus. Also, the EEE course material is not everyone's cup of tea.
- The EEE placements are quite good, though not for everyone. There are more high pointers in EEE than in any other branch. Thus good companies prefer to hire from among those.
- Placements might be better for CS at Goa, though in some other respects you might sell yourself short with this choice.

I am a second-year student of Aerospace Engineering at IIT Bombay. I think you should opt for Aerospace Engineering at our institution. You should especially choose this branch if the area of research interests you as it is a research-focused department.
The Aerospace Engineering branch of IIT Bombay consistently performs well in placements. The highest package in 2023 was INR 1.68 CPA, while the median package was INR 19.63 LPA for B.Tech Aerospace Engineering students of IIT Bombay.
Some of the prominent recruiters from the department are- Rolls Royce, Boeing India, Akasa Air, Airbus, etc. After graduation, you can work in aircraft design, or as a technical officer, or in some other related field.

Which is better, IIT Hyderabad EEE or IIT Madras mechanical engineering?
IIT Bombay and IIT Madras were established in 1958 and 1959 respectively. Both these institutions have emerged as highly renowned centers of Engineering studies in India. Both IIT Bombay and IIT Madras are more than an institution, they are in fact a brand with a high relevance and strong network in the industry.
The ‘Bombay’ or ‘Madras’ is a part of this brand name. This is not the address of these institutions, as both these cities have long been renamed as Mumbai and Chennai respectively. The institution name has not been altered because of the prestige and legacy carried by both these titles.

Both the options offer equally good academics and placements. But if Mechanical Engineering truly interests you, I would suggest you opt for IIT Madras without second thoughts. Take some time and thoroughly think about your interest and passion before choosing one branch over the other.

The branch-wise placement details for IIT Delhi are unfortunately not available. However, as seen above, both the colleges offer really good placements in B.Tech programs.
But IIT Delhi Electrical is a better option because this institution carries a bigger brand name, and the ‘IIT’ tag. This will be immensely important for you when applying for higher studies after your graduation. Moreover, plenty of employees give preference to an ‘IIT’ tag over an ‘NIT’ tag.
IIT Delhi is located in the national capital, which is really beneficial in terms of exposure. Moreover, IIT Delhi will give you much more opportunities as compared to NIT Trichy. You can learn coding in your leisure time while studying electrical, in case you are interested in working in the IT sector.
Because of these reasons, I would recommend you choose EE at IIT Delhi over CSE at NIT Trichy.
Which is better EEE at IIT Guwahati or CSE at DTU?
While IIT is a globally recognized brand, DTU is no less the mother institution of reputed colleges like IIT Delhi and FMS. It has been established got 83 years and is older than IITs. However, the institute is always the secondary thing to consider, the branch being the primary factor to focus on. Determine whether your interests lie in becoming a Computer Science engineer or an Electronics Engineer.
Personally, I would suggest you go for DTU CSE because of the following reasons:

How are EEE and ECE trades at NIT Jamshedpur?
What your preference is and what interests you, these two are very important at making the right choice.
If any of the two branches is of your preference and interest, then you should go for it.
If you have no such preferences and interests and you are only looking at the job prospects after graduating, then I would suggest you consider the following things:
- Government and Public Sector: These sectors provide more jobs in the electrical field. If you secure a decent GATE score, you will get a lot of interview opportunities in the PSUs. Indian Engineering Services is also an option that has more job opportunities in the electrical branch than the electronic branch. There are very limited opportunities for electronics in the public sector.
- Private Sector: It is the opposite here. The electronics sector is much ahead in the private sector. You will find a lot of companies providing good salary packages in electronics than electrical. However, the job is not core electronics but software profile.
- Faculty: The faculty at NIT Jamshedpur is better in the electrical branch than the electronic branch.
- Laboratories: Electrical branch has better labs than the electronic branch.
- Academic Curriculum: Electrical branch has a lot more pressure than the electronic branch. A few senior faculty members of the electrical branch will make you cry while in the electronic branch, you can secure good marks even by studying less.
All these are relevant factors to keep in mind before making a choice. Now, the choice is yours.
What should I choose: Electronics and Instrumentation in BITS Pilani Goa Campus, Electrical and Electronics in NIT Surathkal?
To make an informed decision, it's crucial to understand that changing your choice based on the college you get into won't have much impact. You should acknowledge that Electronics and Instrumentation in BITS Pilani Goa Campus and Electrical and Electronics in NIT Surathkal are two distinct engineering streams with different colleges, and both colleges are excellent in their own right.
Your selection of the branch should entirely depend on your interest. If you are intrigued by electrical or electronic circuits or have been fascinated by electricity since childhood, EEE is the perfect fit for you. Conversely, if you have an interest in instruments or daily life gadgets that make our lives more comfortable, you should opt for E&I.
Keep in mind that EEE focuses on circuit design and development, while E&I focuses on circuit implementation in industries or the real world. EEE is a core branch that concentrates on its domain, but E&I combines all other core branches such as Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical, and even Computer Science.
Both EEE and E&I offer excellent job prospects in the market. E&I graduates can work in core fields or software industries. There is a plethora of industries related to electrical and electronics, so EEE also offers ample job opportunities. Therefore, both branches are exceptional in their way. Choose the one that piques your interest and don't sacrifice your area of interest due to college selection.

Electrical and Instrumentation:
- Instrumentation engineering is the engineering specialization that focuses primarily on the principle and operation of measuring instruments that are used in the design and configuration of automated systems in electrical, pneumatic domains, etc.
- These engineers usually work at chemical or manufacturing plants and their job role involves improving productivity, reliability, safety, optimization, and stability.
- They are responsible for designing devices that measure physical quantities such as pressure, flow, and temperature. You will require a lot of knowledge in physics much more than electromagnetic theory.
Electrical and Electronics:
- In this students learn to design electronic circuits, and computer systems and also develop control systems. Electronics play a key role in the implementation and control of electrical machines.
- The course mainly focuses on designing and testing ICs, inductors, capacitors and resistors and includes fundamentals and principles of physics, mathematics, computer science, and project management.
- The sub-disciplines of this branch are power, control, electronics, microelectronics and Signal Processing, Telecommunications, Instrumentation and Computers.
Although the choice depends on your own interests, EE has a better scope than EIE.
