Pros

  • Teaching quality is mostly good, with a few exceptions here and there.
  • Vidyalankar provides notes to all students, which are super helpful for preparing for unit tests and understanding the subjects better.
  • The infrastructure is top-notch.
  • The library has a partnership with IIT, so you can find many reference books there.
  • Labs are expected to be accessible 24/7 for students soon, though it's not official yet.
  • ETRX and EXTC branches have received NBA accreditation, and other branches are expected to follow.
  • V print is a convenient printing center for students, and there's a general store for all student needs.
  • Attendance rules aren't too strict, but be cautious of some teachers who might give you a hard time if your attendance is low.

Cons

  • One downside is the travel; it's tricky unless you live in Wadala.
  • The college is surrounded by slums, so there aren't any hangout spots nearby.
  • You have to wear your ID on campus at all times, which some might find annoying.
  • The student council isn't very effective, and Verve, the college fest, doesn't attract students from other colleges.
  • Many students treat it as a break.
  • The campus is just okay, and the average salary package is 3.25 lakhs.
  • However, if you're skilled in programming, there's a company called Works Applications that offers a 35 lakh package, but you need to be really good.
  • Some teachers are excellent, but most are new hires, so you might need extra classes or self-study for some subjects.
  • Submissions can be quite a hassle, as they are in every college.
  • The canteen isn't great, so bringing your own food is a good idea.
  • Some faculty members can be quite difficult, so it's best to avoid conflicts.
  • The student body is mostly Maharashtrian, so it's helpful to learn Marathi if you're not from the region.
  • Overall, it's an average college with excellent facilities and a slightly above-average student group.

How is Vidyalankar Institute of Technology Wadala Mumbai for M.E. CSE?

I'm not the best person to provide details about the faculty or placements at Vidyalankar Institute of Technology. Generally, students pursue an ME degree to get into teaching roles. The skills needed for software development in Indian companies often differ from what you learn during your engineering studies. If becoming a developer is your main aim, you might want to learn a programming language independently and start working in the field.
