Sadly, Miranda House does not offer hostels to everyone save a selected few. They are provided on the basis of merit. So if the chance to stay in a hostel comes your way, make the most of it.

• The cost of living in the hostels is lower than that of living in PGs. 
• The services the hostels provide are good. 
• You will just be a few minutes away from your classes. 
• The hostels are also close to the metro station and the market.
• However, if you don’t get a hostel, then there are a lot of PGs nearby such as Coho, Zocalo, Nestaway, etc. 
• The PG rooms are well furnished with ACs. 
• There are attached bathrooms with the facility of geysers. 
• Cooks will prepare meals for you and there are also security guards in the premises 24/7 for safety. 
• CCTV cameras are installed too.

Some PGs like Stanza Living organize events which help in the enhancement of career for making college life more interesting.

Among these three, you need to choose between Lady Shree Ram and Miranda as both of them are good colleges. LSR is better than all because of the various factors including the environment, peer groups, events, and many other things. 

If you are not a native resident of NCR and there’s a choice between no hostel LSR or the Miranda House with the hostel, then you can opt for the latter as you will get to enjoy and experience the hostel life. If you are unable to get a hostel anywhere then opt for LSR anyway.

Miranda House lays so much stress on attendance that they can even stop students whose attendance is low from appearing for an exam. 

• According to some of my friends studying there, Low attendance can even prevent a student from contesting elections for department and various society posts as well.
• You will be rewarded with marks if your attendance is higher than the required percentage. 
• If your attendance is above 90% then you will be given 5 marks for free and 4 marks if your attendance is higher than 80% and so on.

A minimum of attendance of 65% is mandatory for the students. If the attendance is lower than 65% then the students will not be allowed to appear in their final semester exams, unfortunately.

Both Miranda House and the Lady Shri Ram (LSR) College of Commerce are two of the most prominent women’s colleges under the University of Delhi. They both have huge respect from the teaching fraternity. 

Miranda House is in North Delhi while LSR is in South Delhi and is actually very far from most other colleges. Both the colleges will change your perspective and will give you a totally new outlook of the world ahead. You will make some great friends and your girl-girl bond will definitely grow stronger. 

However, I feel that LSR is a little bit too sophisticated and modern and the girls also feel a little too posh. At Miranda House, you will get students from all corners and strata of society. Overall you will not regret for the next three years the decision you took today.

No, Miranda House is not a private college. It is, however, one of the top colleges under the University of Delhi. 

• The admission is looked after by the Government through DU via a process that covers all the colleges in the North or the premier campus and other campuses all over Delhi.
• The admissions are determined by the total aggregate score in the board exams of class 12. 
• The cutoffs for admission in the North Campus of the University of Delhi are as high as 90% as the competition is very intense.

In the present scenario, the questions are set up differently and the candidates are also scoring a 100% nowadays which is fantastic. This has drastically upped the admission scene in institutions.

All the departments at Miranda House have their freshers’ party on the same day. Each department takes up one room each in the college and the respective students go to that party. The main highlights of the party are –

• Every department has its own unique theme and students of the particular department are expected to dress according to the theme.
• The freshers’ party starts with an introduction where each fresher needs to speak about themselves as a general introduction.
• Then there are fun tasks that need to be performed and participated and the winners get rewards. This is followed by dance performances by seniors as well as juniors.
• During the period snacks and eateries are also given to all the students involved as a welcome gesture to the college.
• Then there are titles such as Ms. Fresher’s, best-dressed are also presented at the end of the party.

Overall it is a fun little party where the aim is to get quality interaction with your peers as well as your seniors.

No, unfortunately Miranda House does not offer BBA and not even the University of Delhi, for that matter, offers BBA in any course. 

The course related to management that is offered to the students of the University of Delhi is 

• BMS or Bachelor's of Management Studies, 
• BFIA or Bachelor's of Financial Investment and 
• Analysis and BBE or Bachelor's of Business Economics.

If you want to pursue these courses, then you will have to appear for the entrance exam DU JAT (DUET) which is conducted by the NTA or National Testing Agency. If you want to pursue management, then Delhi has its fair share of reputed B-schools.

Miranda House is definitely worth joining. A lot of my friends graduated from Miranda House, according to them here are some reasons as to why it stands out.
