Which college should I choose for mechanical engineering - Manipal (main campus) or MAIT (GGSIPU, Delhi) (read description)?
Both Manipal University and MAIT are amongst the top 20 colleges for pursuing engineering in India.
Admission Criteria:
Manipal University-

Students who wish to pursue a BTech degree must appear for the Manipal Entrance Test (MET) and score within the closing rank of 6138 to get a seat on the main campus.

Students must have a minimum aggregate of 50% in their 10 +2 with Physics, Memetics, and English as a compulsory subject and Biology/Chemistry/ Biotechnology as an optional subject.

Manipal has a total of 200 seats with a tuition fee of INR 16.3 lakhs for four years.
MAIT-

For MAIT, applicants must sit for the JEE main examination and obtain a rank within 7000 to acquire a seat.

A minimum of 55% aggregate in 10+2 and English as a compulsory subject is required. Students who wish to take admission through lateral entry must sit for the IPU CET test.

MAIT has a seat matrix of 180 with a tuition fee of INR 4.62 lakhs for four years for Mechanical Engineering.
Infrastructure:
Manipal University- It is known for its excellent infrastructure with high-end labs which are updated every three years to add in the latest equipment. The classrooms are well maintained and are fully air-conditioned and equipped with projectors, speakers, and microphones. The entire campus is Wi-Fi-enabled, and hostels are provided on the basis of merit.
MAIT- It has one of the best and largest campuses in Delhi. Classrooms are air-conditioned and come with smart classes, and labs have all the latest equipment. The library has a system called ‘Book Bank’ where students with financial difficulties can get books for free.
Faculty:
Both the colleges provided top-tier faculty who are supportive and have the highest degree of education. The mechanical department of Manipal has faculty from IIT and NIT, and all faculties of MAIT either have a Ph.D. or are pursuing one.

Having friends who study in both colleges, I can assure you that, there is no comparison of Sharda University with any IPU colleges unless it is low rated.
- If you are taking your studies seriously you should consider entering colleges affiliated with IP University.
- But Sharda University offers amazing placement and internship opportunities as they have good tie-ups with few top companies.
- You can do good even at Sharda University if you are good at self-study and can get motivated on your own.
- The positive side of Sharda University is that it has a great crowd.
There are alumni at Sharda University who are unemployed. Even a number of graduate students from IPU are still searching for jobs. There are students at both of these universities who have reached heights in technological fields.

Is the BBA program better at IP University or NMIMS University?
NMIMS BBA is better. The curriculum and the faculty base are top-notch. Infrastructure is way better than IP University. You will get good exposure and opportunities to form a great resume. Other than placements, NMIMS also offers support and resources to entrepreneurs. BBA has a placement rate of around 100%. The average CTC for the branch is INR 5-6 LPA. TCS, Genpact, Tresvista are the top recruiters for BBA.

One of my friends had recently joined Thapar University and here are some of the facts about it that make it stand out among others.
- One of the best streams to pursue at Thapar University is CSE.
- The placements at Thapar are really good and most of the CSE students get placed.
- Some teachers are not very good with their teaching methods. One of the best professors at Thapar is Mannek sir, he is a mechanics teacher.
- One of the best things you will encounter while studying at Thapar University is the senior mentors. They are like siblings and help you with everything.
- The infrastructure is not very well developed yet, there are few buildings with air conditioning but unfortunately not all buildings.
- There is various student societies present which you can also join.

Should I choose BSC CS in PGDAV college or Btech from an average college of IPU?
If you are interested in Computer Science and want to pursue coding as a profession then doing a B.Tech from IPU will be better. At PGDAV, the teaching faculty for CS are not up to the mark. There is no placement in tech at DU. The atmosphere on campus is also not ideal for technical studies. The infrastructural facilities are also not good. Computers at labs stay down most of the time.
Which brand is better for CSE, IPU or AKTU?
Both the Universities -IPU OR AKTU are average universities so deciding which brand is better is a bit difficult. Still from basic comparison we can say that IPU is better than AKTU. Some strong points to prove this have been mentioned below:

Being Delhi based, IPU still has better management and organisation than Uttar Pradesh based AKTU.

AKTU engineering colleges are on the verge of collapse due to which students are now being admitted on the basis of donations or direct admissions. IPU does not accept donations.

Since the number of colleges under AKTU are more than that of IPU, placement factor is affected. IPU is better in this aspect than AKTU. Better opportunities and companies are offered here in comparison to AKTU.

AKTU is witnessing a decline in standards whereas IPU is a bit more stable in its placement and evaluation.
So between the two options, IPU is a better option. It has more to offer than any AKTU college can offer. But HBTI is exception as it has now separated from AKTU and it’s an excellent college.
