DM
Dhe Mukharjee Posted On : April 5th, 2024
Bachelor of Computer Applications Degrees, Ganpat University

BCA is a 3 year degree program. These 3 years are divided into 6 semesters, out of which 4 semesters contain Maths as a compulsory subject. Some colleges do offer BCA without Mathematics, but then there’s no use of doing this degree.

Maths is a foundational subject for BCA, and without understanding the basic logic you can’t be a good programmer. For that you need Maths.

You can pursue BCA without having Maths as a subject in your 10+2, but then you’ll have to work hard on this subject in the course of your degree program.

I got AIIMS Raipur in the 2nd round of counselling. Should I leave Seth GS for that?

Muskan Shafi Posted On : April 5th, 2024

Seth GS (KEM) and AIIMS Raipur are both renowned medical institutes that have dedicated faculty. However, KEM is located in Mumbai while AIIMS Raipur is located in Chattisgarh.

KEM located in Mumbai has a very metropolitan lifestyle, which is always amidst the hustle and bustle. The 1st year students at KEM are not provided with hostel facilities. Hence, they must look for private accommodation and travel to KEM every day. Mumbai is one of the metropolitan cities where the cost of living is very high. Hence, the food, accommodation and living expenses are very high. Although students get hostel accommodation on campus in 2nd year. It is highly crowded and has less living space.

AIIMS Raipur located in Chattisgarh is spread across 103.63 Acres and has a green luscious environment. Students are provided with hostels, mess and other facilities with less costs. Also, students graduating from AIIMS get the AIIMSONIAN tag. It is less crowded at AIIMS Raipur as they offer an annual intake of 125 students for MBBS while Seth GS offers 250 seats annually. Hence, hostels, laboratories and mess might seem a bit crowded and individuals might have less attention from the faculty.

However, the final decision is based on individual choices and preferences.
