SK
Sugandha Khandelwal Posted On : August 31st, 2021
B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from National Law School of India University, Bangalore (2022)

CLAT is an aptitude entrance test to get into Law institutes such as top NLU’s, NALSAR, NLIU, NUJS, etc. According to one of my friends who was in a similar situation, 4 months is a sufficient time for anyone to crack CLAT provided they study with focus, commitment.

The ways to follow through the preparation of CLAT: -

  • Joining a successful coaching institute.
  • They generally start with a crash course program in a very highly competitive atmosphere.
  • They provide the right materials, motivation for the students to excel.
  • They provide mock tests on a regular basis to see where you stand.
  • Studying on your own is also an excellent choice if you know about the pattern and questions.
  • Contact any coaching for the mocks and material and get yourself enrolled in an online program.
  • Study and revise the topics through the recorded sessions as per your choice.
  • They give you all the practice material and help you devise the proper strategy to crack the exam.

It is definitely possible to crack CLAT in a 4 month time with proper guidance and dedication. So do not worry and go ahead with your decision.

How should one tackle GD and PI to get into NITIE bombay?

AC
Anuja Chauhan Posted On : August 12th, 2021
PGDIM Supply Chain Management, National Institute of Industrial Engineering (2019)

Some of my friends studied at NITIE Mumbai. They now know all the intricate details on how to face a GD and a PI round. Let me share some things they used to keep in mind.

Tips for GD:

  • Try to start the discussion. Give it a structure and then conclude it.
  • Remember that if you give it a structure, it should flow in the same direction. Though it can be a bit tricky.
  • If you are not able to start the discussion, make sure that you give at least three distinct and strong points.
  • When you state your point, try backing it up with facts and numbers. This will make you stand out among others.
  • Stay updated with current affairs and trends.

Tips for PI:

  • Read your CV thoroughly.
  • Questions that you can expect from your CV are related to your work experience and your projects if any.
  • If you are a fresher, you can expect questions on your final year project, your favorite subject, etc.
  • Since my friend was a mechanical engineer, he was asked questions on thermodynamics and a few on the composition of air.
  • You can expect basic questions such as Why NITIE Mumbai or Why Supply Chain? Go through the basics of supply chain and operations management.

So, these are some of the things you need to be prepared for. Overall be honest, humble, and answer with confidence.

Can you give me some tips to pass in engineering mechanics 1st year in MAKAUT? P.S I don't know anything

KR

studied at Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University Of Technology

Students usually find it difficult to pass Engineering Mechanics, but it can be cracked easily using a perfect study strategy and consistency. The Dynamics portion is comparatively easier than statistics, which includes the basics like power, energy, Newton’s Law of Motion, and so on. The other topics that require greater understanding include projectile motion, circular motion, and so on. The portion on statistics is a bit tricky, and the topics include concepts of physics and mathematics. You should spend hours on methodological preparation and practice numerical reasoning to understand the concepts

SK
Shefali Khanna Posted On : May 5th, 2021
B.Tech Chemical Engineering & Digital Marketing, Birsa Institute of Technology, Sindri (2020)

You should prepare yourself from the beginning when it comes to giving entrance exams. You should believe in yourself and know that things might change. You shouldn’t stress yourself out too much and just focus on what is in front of you.

Here are a few methods that might help:

  • You should use the NCERT books and grasp as much as you can. Learn, remember and understand whatever information you can from these books. They cover all three topics of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • When it comes to Physics, the NCERT books will definitely help you. If you study them properly and get a good grasp on the concepts and have your basics cleared with the formulas learned, you will do well.
  • For mathematics, you can solve all the NCERT books including the exercises and examples with all other miscellaneous exercise questions.

Overall, make sure your concepts are clear. Follow the NCERT book to the core and study well. You may have prepared for JEE Mains which will also be a good booster. You should also practice last year’s JCECE question papers as this will give you an overall idea of the exam.

How do I study math at home for a competitive exam like Bank or DSSSB?

SP
Sulagna Palit Posted On : January 21st, 2021
M.A. in Public Administration in Masters in Public Administration, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) (2019)

If you are preparing at home then subscribe to any youtube channel that covers all the sections and topics. ADDA24/7 is a good channel covering all the relevant topics that appear in Bank exam and DSSSB.

Follow a specific preparation plan then study the exam pattern and figure out which sections in quantitative subjects have the most weightage. For instance, for the SSC exam or any bank exam, some questions from certain sections are fixed.

Sections

Number of Questions

Number Series

5 questions

Simplification

5 questions

Data Interpretation

5 to 10 questions

Quadratic Equations

5 questions

If you focus on these topics, you can easily solve a majority of the questions in this section:

Simplification

  • Focus on this topic because about 20 percent of the quantitative section is made up of this topic.
  • Use quick mental maths to solve these questions and try to focus on the concepts as well. You can use short tricks to make quick calculations and save time.
  • Practice questions from topics like BODMAS rules, Approximation, Square and Cubes, Surds and Indices, Decimals and Percentages.

Number Series:

  • This is the easiest topic in the quantitative section.
  • Try to solve over 300 questions from different platforms and once you get a hang of the topic, you will be able to confidently answer all the questions.
  • During the exam, if you don’t understand the pattern within 30 seconds then move on. Don’t waste your time and practice more.

Data Interpretation:

  • This topic requires practice every day. Practice all the different types of questions related to Pie Charts, Tables, Line Graph, Bar Graph and Miscellaneous questions with word problems.
  • Data Interpretation questions are common in exams, you will get at least 1 or 2 sets wherein some questions are easy to solve and require fewer maths calculations.

Quadratic Equations:

  • The questions from this topic are fairly easy and if you know the basic concept, then you can easily attempt all the questions.
  • Practice 100 questions from this topic daily.

All these topics are very important, so prepare them well. Focus on solving questions on a daily basis and try to stay up to date.

What kind of preparation is needed to get an admission in executive MTech in data science in IIT Hyderabad?

HR
Himika Roy Posted On : May 9th, 2023
B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad (2021)

Honestly speaking, Executive M.Tech or MBA in part-time or short-duration courses in newer IITs or NITs has zero effect on your career prospects and is not worth the money and time invested. Instead, it's better to invest 2 years for a full-time M.Tech in top universities like IIT Madras, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT KGP BITS, etc. Utilizing more time to prepare for six top universities will help you reach better heights career-wise. However, keep working and prepare for GATE alongside your job. In the meantime, you can clear BITS-HD, and PGEE for IIITs easily if you prepare at the GATE level. Even with an experience of 4 years, you can invest 2 years for M.Tech in top IITs and secure a good IT job in tech giants like Google, Amazon, McKinsey, etc.

It's better to consider other options and leave Executive MTech as the last option when all doors are closed.

How should one prepare for the entrance exam for a postgraduate program at ISI Kolkata?

SJ
Sandeep Jain Posted On : October 7th, 2021
Studied at Indian Statistical Institute

If you are going for a Master’s degree just for the sake of getting good pay, then don't, it'll be a waste of your 2 precious years. Let me give you an overview:

  • M.Tech will not fetch you a 6-digit salary in an instant unless you are placed in a top company like Google.
  • If you're interested in going for M.Tech in CS then plan ahead- see what is asked in the ISI exam. You will find that it's mostly the B.Sc level Math.

If you are in Kolkata, then definitely go to ISI. There's a bookstore behind the college, it has a Math book especially for the ISI entrance test. You may buy and prep from that.
