What should I take, electrical engineering at IIT Delhi or CSE at BITS Pilani?
IIT Delhi and BITS Pilani are two highly reputed institutions for engineering studies in India. I am a second year B.Tech Electrical student at IIT Delhi. During my time, I was faced with a similar dilemma. But I ended up choosing IIT Delhi over BITS Pilani for my studies.
I would recommend you choose Electrical Engineering at IIT Delhi over CSE at BITS Pilani because of these reasons:
- Brand Value: IIT Delhi carries the prestigious “IIT'' tag which holds more brand value than the “BITS Pilani'' tag. This will become important to you when applying to foreign universities for your higher education.
- Fees: As a government institution, the fees of IIT Delhi is much more affordable as compared to BITS Pilani. This in turn, gives IIT Delhi a higher position in ROI (Return on Investment) because it offers even better placements.

What should I prefer: IT at IIIT Allahabad or CS at NIT Jalandhar?
You should prefer IT at IIIT Allahabad. It has a better placement record, coding culture, and peer group. IIIT Allahabad also has a better industry reach compared to NIT Jalandhar. Industry giants such as Facebook, Google, etc. take part in the placement drive. During IIIT Allahabad placements in 2022, 100% of students got placed. The highest CTC offered this year was INR 1.4 CPA.
How many marks or what rank is needed to get into CSE at CGC Landran?
The two options for taking admission to CGC Landran are below.
- Through PTU Counselling: 75% seats.
- Directly by college: 25% seats.
Admission Details:
- B. Tech admission is on the valid score of JEE Main for Punjab domicile candidates.
- The final admission is dependent upon the PTU counseling.
- In JEE Main, you need a rank up to 6-7 lakhs.
- You can also get direct admission to this college. The only condition is that you should have at least 70 percent marks in your HSC.
- Even though your HSC marks are short, you may also get a college seat on a donation basis. The donation rates change according to your marks in HSC and the time left for starting the new academic session.

Which is better, IIT Dhanbad CSE or Thapar CSE?
I don’t need to even think twice before saying that IIT Dhanbad CSE is a far better option than Thapar CSE. The former is funded by the central government thereby offering an excellent academic background and opportunities. IIT Dhanbad has a beautiful campus and a vibrant campus life.

Thapar University, on the other hand, is a semi-government tier 2 that cannot be compared to IIT Dhanbad at all. You should not miss the chance to get the most coveted IIT tag!
Should I take CSE in KIIT or IEM, Kolkata?
I have a friend who scored a rank of 1536 in KIITEE and chose CSE in KIIT while another who got a rank of 4158 in WBJEE and went got IEM ECE.
What I mean is that the institute does not matter but it’s your capability and skills that determine your success rate. I find judging colleges based on placements very silly.
So, if your ultimate goal is BTech only then take any one between IEM and KIIT depending on your financial background but if you are planning to pursue higher education, IEM will help you save money that can later be used for higher studies.
Which is better, NIT Kurukshetra CSE or NIT Bhopal CSE?
As a student of COE branch at NIT Kurukshetra, I will tell you about its advantages-
- The placement scenario is very good. For 2023 placements, 89.89% students from COE were placed. The median package stood at INR 18.50 LPA.
- Cities like Delhi and Chandigarh are just 2-3 hours away from Kurukshetra. So you can access good GATE and CAT coaching centers.
- The COE syllabus is updated and improved.
- As per the 2023 Engineering rankings, NIT Kurukshetra stands at 58th position while NIT Bhopal stands at 80th position.
But in the end, I suggest you also consult some students from NIT Bhopal. Try to make an informed choice based on all the information you receive from various sources.
How are the placement in IET DAVV for CSE branch?
Placement of students in circuit branches is never a problem at IET DAVV. If you are from CSE, you won’t need to worry about placements. A number of service-based companies visit the institute.
Placement Statistics:
- For the batch of 2016-2020, more than 30 different companies visited the campus with more than 350 different offers.
- Companies that visited, included Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, L&T and Infotech. These are mainly mass recruiters. The day in September that companies visit the college is known as ‘0 day’. If you are from the computer science or IT branch, you will most surely be placed.
- The average CTC offered to the students is around 3.5 LPA.
Lastly, if you are considering going for further studies and are preparing for GRE, GATE, or CAT, the environment here will suit you. Many seniors have done exceptionally well in these exams.
Which is better: CS at NIT Kurukshetra or CS at BIT Mesra?
CS at BIT Mesra is far better than CS at NIT Kurukshetra. It offers better academics, placements, and exposure. Students of the institute get ample networking opportunities thanks to the huge alumni base. CSE at BIT Mesra has a placement rate of around 92%. The average salary package for the branch is INR 13 LPA. Microsoft, Amazon, Accenture, etc. recruit through BIT Mesra placements.
