BITS Pilani is definitely the better college as compared to CBIT. I do not have much idea about CBIT. BITS has a league of its own.
Here are some key points about BITS:
You can compare other IITs like IITB, IITM, IITK for better or for the worse. But, keep in mind that this does not mean that other top governments or private colleges are not equally good or even comparable to BITS. It all boils down to the pedigree, which is the only thing that matters.
A lot of colleges across the country are making huge strides in efforts to tackle leading colleges within the next 8 to 10 years. It all depends upon how strategically the college invests and commits to doing better. From what little knowledge we have about CBIT, it really does not compare much in this aspect.
Here are a few points pertaining to the faculty of BITS Pilani.
Lastly, comparing engineering colleges is highly illogical as it is all a matter of your competence and not the institute you belong to.
Branch-wise, you won’t find many differences as the curriculum and courses covered are almost similar. However, the overall ambiance and exposure offered us better at BITS Pilani. Here are a few points to support my stance
Ultimately, there is no right choice, and choosing one over the others is completely a personal choice. Either way, you will lose and gain something!

Since it is a private college. The infrastructure and facilities offered are good. The departmental labs are well-equipped with the latest technology and equipment.
I have friends in all the 3 institutes so I happen to be the right person to answer your question
A friend in NIT Trichy told me that the lectures are boring and the professors are incapable of delivering the concepts in a skillful manner. Most of them are hardly interested in teaching and offer no individual assistance. Only a few exceptional professors help you here.
Meanwhile, my friends at BITS Pilani and IIT Bombay were all praised for their respective institutes.
So yes there is a huge difference in the quality of education and opportunities offered by the aforementioned institutes. However, in the long run, it’s your skills and talents that matter.
One of my friends graduated from BITS Pilani and here are some things you could follow for your first year of college.
First of all, one must study well in their first year to maintain their CGPA. Keep your CGPA in check but do not let it consume you completely. Make sure you never let your score go beyond a 7.5 because no matter what, it is always an advantage to maintain a good CGPA. As this will help you sit in placement drives.
Apart from studies, here are some ideas for spending the first year of your college time at BITS Pilani –
Finally, do whatever you dreamt of doing before joining the college. Balance studies and fun. It will be an unforgettable experience. You will cherish it forever.
BITS Pilani CS is better than IIT Mumbai Chemical Engineering in terms of placements. Top MNCs such as Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, etc. visit the campus placements. The recent highlights of BITS Pilani placements show the average package of CSE to be around INR 17-20 LPA. The highest CTC for CSE is around INR 44 LPA.
BITS Pilani offers an enviable campus experience with a lot of academic freedom.
When it comes to Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) programs, IIIT Hyderabad is undoubtedly one of the best options available. The study environment and coding culture at IIIT Hyderabad are unmatched, making it a great choice for students interested in CSE.
However, if you are looking for a more well-rounded college experience that includes a relaxed and enjoyable campus life, an older IIT may be a better choice for you. While IIIT Hyderabad excels in academics, it may not provide the same level of student life experience as an IIT.
When deciding between colleges, it is important to consider all aspects of the institution, not just academics. For example, BITS Pilani is an excellent college in all aspects, but if you have the option of getting into an older IIT such as IIT Guwahati, it may be a better choice for you.
Similarly, when choosing between BHU and IIT Guwahati, it is advisable to choose IIT Guwahati. While BHU has recently been given the IIT tag, IIT Guwahati is now being compared to older IITs and is even beating some of them in various rankings.
Finally, if you do not get admission into CSE with a rank of 803, Mathematics and Computing (MnC) is always an option. In fact, MnC is a safer option with better placement opportunities at IIT Guwahati. So, you can always consider MnC if you don't get CSE.
If you are mainly talking about the Goa or Hyderabad campus, you will not be able to let your parents stay with you. But, as far as the Pilani campus is concerned and you are from the city, you can stay with your parents.
However, it is advised not to think of doing something like this because if you are a day scholar, transportation will be a huge hassle for you. Even if you make pros and cons list, the pros will not be worth it.
A friend of mine also thought of doing the same but he switched to a hosteller after a year. You will learn new things in life when you stay at the hostel. You will get to learn how to live among people that you like and otherwise dislike.
Generally speaking, I have also heard of a few parents coming and staying for a span of two to three days to meet their children. But, let me tell you if you are thinking of parents staying with you on campus, that is probably not possible as most of us have never heard of such a case.
