IIT Kharagpur LLM entrance exam syllabus includes what you have learned in your graduation. The written paper consists of multiple-choice questions based on law. This is based on BCI approved LLB syllabus. This exam does not have any negative markings. The marks you will obtain in CBT will determine your final selection at IIT Kharagpur.
LLM is a 2-year degree with 4 semesters. You are eligible to apply for an LLM degree when you are in the final semester of your LLB. The course fee per semester of LLM is INR 1,00,000.
IIT Kharagpur Spring Fest is the awaited event of the year for all IIT Kharagpur students. Every year thousands of students from all over the country attend this event and take part in the different events that are organized by the fest committee. Students of IIT Kharagpur are encouraged to actively participate in the fest either to plan the event or to take part in the different events. In 2024, the 65th edition of IIT Kharagpur Spring Fest was held. The theme was 'Downtown Delirium – A Kaleidoscope of Urban Vision. ' It was held from January 26th to 28th. There were about 100 events which transcend boundaries. Some of the events conducted were fashion, dance, dramatics, music, literature, quiz, film, culinary arts and humor. The boat was the official title sponsor for the fest.
No there are no uniforms for students, both boys and girls at IIT Kharagpur. You can wear whatever you want at your convenience as long as it is decent and follows the basic norms. There is no compulsion that you are bound to wear a particular uniform while you are interested in the campus. You can dress according to your choice. Jeans tops, t-shirts, shirts, formalities and more are allowed on campus. However, if you wish you can always wear t-shirts provided to the students with the IIT Kharagpur logo and name on the campus as per your preferences. There is no restriction regarding the clothing for boys or even girls on the campus or in the hostels respectively. IIT Kharagpur values your personal choice and does not impose any uniforms on its students.
Admission at IIT Kharagpur is very competitive and you should clear the joint Entrance Exam to be able to apply for admission to IIT Kharagpur. The cut-off required for admission to IIT Kharagpur may vary from year to year depending on the difficulty of the entrance exam, the number of applicants sitting for the exam and the number of seats that are available for each department. To be able to get to the first round of counselling for IIT Kharagpur by appearing in JEE Advanced you should hold a rank in the top 1000 students. The nearest airport to IIT Kharagpur is Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport situated in Kolkata. It is the best way if you choose to travel via flight. From the airport, you can avail a business or a taxi to reach IIT Kharagpur. The distance from Kolkata to Kharagpur is around 140 km. However, these costs will be very high. You can take an alternative route, take a bus to Howrah Station and then simply take a train to Kharagpur it will save you time and money. Once you reach the campus, you can get help from any student to reach your destination.
IIT Kharagpur is very well connected with railway stations, therefore you can very conveniently travel to IIT Kharagpur via train. Kharagpur is a junction railway station which is very well connected to the major cities nationwide. To reach IIT Kharagpur from anywhere around India all you need to do is take a train to Kharagpur station and then you can hire a cab or an auto to reach the campus. IIT Kharagpur is situated in Kharagpur, West Bengal. There are many local trains that you can avail from Howrah Station to reach Kharagpur. It usually takes around 2 hours and 30 minutes. However, if you take express trains from Howrah Station you will reach within 1 hour 40mins. Shared auto service runs from the station to the institution and it is very frequent, so you will not have any trouble reaching the campus. You can always take the help of Google Maps in case you feel lost.
