Is it worth doing an B.Sc at LPU if my main goal is to land a high-paying job?

!

To address your question about "qualifying" for jobs, it really depends on the firm. Some companies explicitly look for degrees from IITs, IIMs, and similar institutions.

However, your question seems more general. You can logically consider a related question: “Do LPU graduates typically earn as much as IIT/IIM graduates?”

The short answer is NO.

LPU has been around for a while, and many batches of hundreds or thousands of students are already in the job market. If LPU graduates were consistently earning high salaries, there would be plenty of evidence, and word would have spread.

Since you're asking this, it’s safe to assume you haven't encountered many examples of that. So, it’s reasonable to conclude that it’s not generally true. There can always be exceptions, but those are usually due to the individual rather than the college.

On a broader note, while IITs and IIMs provide more opportunities for high-paying jobs, it doesn’t mean that other colleges don’t offer those chances. Ultimately, your skills and the value you bring to an organization determine your salary. An exceptionally skilled high-school dropout who generates millions for a company CAN earn more!

How do the placements really compare between LPU B.Com (Hons.) and Amity University Noida B.Com?

L
LunarLabyrinthLocks Posted On : April 16th, 2026

LPU B.Com (Hons.) has a strong focus on preparing students for competitive exams like CA, which can be a significant advantage if you're looking to enter that field, but the overall job market for B.Com graduates seems limited with fewer direct employment opportunities compared to Amity University Noida. Amity, on the other hand, offers a more vibrant campus life with numerous fests and extracurricular activities, plus a supportive faculty that enhances the overall learning experience. While LPU claims impressive placement statistics, most of the major companies target B.Tech students, making Amity a better choice for B.Com aspirants due to its broader internship and placement avenues. Personally, I would pick Amity University Noida for its well-rounded student experience and better chances of securing relevant job placements in the business sector.

Hi there! Many students are currently studying at LPU, with some pursuing B.Tech and others in MBA programs. Conversations with them reveal that LPU typically operates on a two-semester academic session for most undergraduate programs, including B.Pharm. For MBA, however, the structure is based on trimesters.

Here’s a breakdown:

  • B.Pharm Semesters:
    • First semester: August to December
    • Second semester: January to May
  • MBA Trimesters:
    • First trimester: August to October
    • Second trimester: November to February
    • Third trimester: March to May

LPU is known for launching new initiatives. Recently, they introduced the “COVID-19 Frontline Scholarship” to support coronavirus survivors. This is a unique step to assist those who have faced challenges due to the pandemic. Additionally, LPU has relaxed eligibility criteria for many programs to accommodate candidates affected by the situation.

Is it worth doing a M.Tech Computer Science and Engineering from LPU or not? What are its placement records and whats your experience with this college so far

T
TheMaroonMorphoButterfly Posted On : April 16th, 2026

I chose to do my M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from LPU mainly for the placement opportunities. The curriculum is balanced; the exam levels are moderate, so if you study a bit, you can score well. After the first semester, we all enroll in placement services, which cost between 3000-12000 depending on the course. They teach us valuable skills that really help in job interviews. The campus life here is lively, with students from all over the world, and there are plenty of clubs to join. Overall, if you're serious about your career and willing to invest in your education, LPU is worth considering.

How do the placements really compare between LPU B.Tech Civil Engineering and GEU B.Tech Computer Science Engineering?

V
VeiledStarlight Posted On : April 16th, 2026

Between LPU B.Tech Civil Engineering and GEU B.Tech Computer Science Engineering, LPU seems to provide a better return on investment. LPU offers scholarships up to 60%, making the fees more manageable, while also boasting a solid placement rate of 80% with companies like Tata and Accenture, and a maximum package of 15 lacs. In contrast, GEU's placement data isn't as robust, and while it likely has its advantages, the financial aspect leans in favor of LPU for civil engineering, especially with its supportive faculty and comprehensive resources. I'd recommend LPU for those focused on civil engineering careers, especially if financial factors are a priority.

If you're aiming for the MCA at LPU, I'd suggest aiming for a minimum of 60% in your BCA. It’s not just about the marks, though; it’s also about the learning environment. The professors are super supportive, and many have PhDs, which really enhances our understanding. Plus, you’ll be eligible for campus placements from the 3rd semester, so it’s worth pushing hard in your academics!
