You should prefer MTech CSE at DTU. It offers better facilities. The infrastructure and hostel facilities of DTU are great. Located in the heart of Delhi, it offers better exposure to the industry. It is comparably easier to receive live projects, internships, and placement opportunities. Companies such as Microsoft, Wipro, Cisco, etc. take part in DTU placements. The average CTC for MTech CSE students is around INR 10 LPA - 12 LPA.

What should I opt for, DTU Mechanical or PEC (Chandigarh) CSE?

AA
Anuj Agrawal Posted On : May 5th, 2021

Both the above colleges are really good, so you needn’t worry about that front. You need to first decide which field you have an interest in. If you really have an interest in CSE, only then you should go for PEC. Otherwise, mechanical is a very good branch. Moreover, DTU is known for its mechanical department.

If you are really interested in either of the branches, you should go for it, irrespective of the college you choose. You must first check if you are interested in coding/ development or automobiles, etc. But if you can’t judge your interests, you should go for DTU because Delhi life would offer you more exposure and opportunities. DTU Mechanical is an old, developed branch that is very proud of its heritage.

The table below gives a brief comparison of the courses.

Parameters

DTU

PEC Chandigarh

Average CTC

7.2 LPA

10 LPA

Highest CTC

13 LPA

42 LPA

Course Fee

8.44 lakhs

3.45 lakhs

You may ask a DTU as well as a PEC student for their reviews and then decide which college you would like to go for.

  • Higher demand for electrical engineers in the job market.
  • Good faculty and research facilities in all three institutes.

Cons of EEE:

  • May not have as broad a scope as ECE.

Pros of ECE:

  • Focus on communication systems, signal processing, and VLSI design, which are in high demand in many industries.
  • Offers a wider range of career opportunities.
  • Good faculty and research facilities in all three institutes.

Which is better, CSE in IIITM Gwalior or SE in DTU?

AG
Ayantika Ghosh Posted On : July 2nd, 2021
Studied at Delhi University (2019)

One of my friends studied at DTU. To him, it is at par with old IITs and BITS. Let us see why he preferred DTU over any other IIITs or IITs.

  • DTU has a 100% placement record. Almost all the big companies like Adobe, Google, Microsoft visit their campus for placement
  • The salary package sometimes reaches as high as 1.25 crores.
  • Recently there has been a change in the system of electives as you can study any subject of any branch. You can also choose online courses which are not present in most of the IITs.
  • You can do everything there if you wanna write a research paper and have it published. Then, you can opt for writing a research paper instead of studying the subject.

What should I choose: software engineering at DTU or IT at IIIT Allahabad?

SA
Subham Agarwal Posted On : April 12th, 2023
Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad

When it comes to choosing a stream for higher education, it's important to follow your interests and passions. Ultimately, the decision should be yours alone, and you should choose the stream that you feel most excited and enthusiastic about pursuing.

If you're considering IT or software engineering, there are a number of factors to take into account when making your decision. Here are some key points to consider:

  • Interest: Consider what subject matter excites you the most, and what you can see yourself studying and working in for the next few years.
  • Curriculum and faculty: Look for programs that have up-to-date and relevant coursework, as well as faculty members who are experts in the field and can provide valuable insights and guidance.
  • Reputation: The reputation of a program can also play a role in your decision-making process. Consider the standing of the institution and the program within the industry, and look for programs that have a strong track record of producing successful graduates.
  • Placements: Finally, placement opportunities should also be a consideration. Look for programs that have a strong track record of placing graduates in desirable jobs within the industry.

With all of these factors in mind, it's worth noting that if you were in a position to choose between IT at IIIT Allahabad and software engineering at DTU, you might lean towards IT at IIITA. This is because IIIT Allahabad has one of the best CS faculty in all of India, which could provide a valuable learning experience and open doors to a wider range of career opportunities.

Additionally, the IT sector is known for offering great placement opportunities, which can be a key consideration for many students when choosing a program.

Which one is better, NIT Raipur IT or DTU for ECE?

PR
Pablo Roy Posted On : July 7th, 2021
B.Tech Information Technology, National Institute of Technology, Raipur

NIT Raipur and DTU Delhi are two different colleges at two different places. Thus, choose a college according to your convenience and which is not so far from your place.

  • Raipur campus is less polluted and in the middle of the capital city. Moreover, NIT Raipur is more affordable than Delhi.
  • The students don’t worry about the attendance at NIT Raipur as the college is quite lenient regarding their attendance policy. Which you can use to your advantage.
  • Furthermore, NIT Raipur students don’t have to sit for mid-sem exams instead there are two class tests and end semester exams. Hence, it decreases the pressure of examinations.
  • Not to mention, it is a safe campus for students and also free from ragging.
  • The grading system followed at NIT Raipur is absolute whereas the grading system followed by DTU is relative.
  • According to the recent placement highlights, the average CTC for NIT Raipur and DTU are respectively 9.5 LPA and 7 LPA.

It’s on you to choose what seems more convenient.

How is DTU environmental when I am getting into CSE at MSIT and MAIT?

SR
Supratick Roy Posted On : June 14th, 2021
B.Tech Computer Science, Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology (2019)

DTU is a renowned university, known for engineering courses. It will be better to opt for it irrespective of the branch. I have some ideas about the institute since I have some friends at the institute.

You can always opt for CSE subjects in your 1st or 2nd year of the degree. And most recruiting companies coming to the placement drive allows students to appear in interviews, irrespective of their branch. Due to the locational advantages and the brand name, more than 100 companies visit the campus drive every year.

2021 Placements - DTU

Average CTC

7.2 LPA

Highest CTC

13 LPA

In IP colleges you get 4-5 good recruiting companies at best. Also, the brand name of DTU has its own set of perks.

Which should I take for engineering - physics at DTU or electronics and communication at IIIT Una?

TD
Tarun Kumar Dhillon Posted On : July 13th, 2021
Studied at Amity University Noida (2019)

Both of the colleges have their own specialties. It depends on your purpose for doing any of the mentioned courses. One of my friends graduated from DTU and he mentioned a few points about the same which may be helpful for you-

  • If your focus is on taking a decent job after graduation or earning money, opt for other options than physics.
  • But if you have your interest in the field of research in physics or you want to do your higher studies in the field of physics, then go for Engineering in Physics.
  • My friend from the physics branch in DTU straight away mentioned that the physics department in DTU doesn’t have decent placement opportunities, be it the on-campus placement or off-campus placement.
  • ECE being a practical-oriented subject has a lot of demand in the industry.
  • Also after graduating with ECE, you can sit for placements of both core companies and IT firms. Thus there will be a lot of job opportunities.
  • Half of the students who have enrolled themselves on the physics branch were misled and the other half was too sure and passionate about this branch.
  • Whereas, ECE at IIIT UNA can provide you with a good job right after you graduate.
Categories Engineering Physics at DTU ECE at IIIT Una
Course Fee 7.81 lakh 8.16 lakh
Highest CTC 15-16 LPA 16 LPA
Average CTC 8-9 LPA 8 LPA
Recruiting Companies Optum, Tech Mahindra, TCS, IBM, etc. Google, Microsoft, Accenture, Capgemini, etc.

Hence, it is up to you what is your purpose behind taking a course, if it’s research, go for engineering physics and if it’s about taking a decent job in the field of Electronics, then go for IIIT Una.
