Which is better, IIIT, Allahabad for ECE or NIT Durgapur for ECE if I have a general 12k rank in the JEE Mains?
Before deciding on any institute you should analyze it based on different parameters. Check if the college provides good facilities like hostels equipped with a good and stable internet connection, good food, satisfactory infrastructure, and the most important, a good campus placement drive. If we look at the placement scenario closely, we can see that IIIT Allahabad has a better placement record and gets more companies. They also provide a higher package to their students. This does not make NIT Durgapur bad. Even NIT Durgapur provides good placements as well as opportunities for higher studies as well.
Both the colleges have a similar kind of course curriculum and nobody can force you to study.
It is not fair to compare the two universities because both of them are unique in themselves and have their charm. So, choose according to your convenience.

Moreover, the academic environment is much better at NIT Silchar than at IIIT Guwahati. As for the location, NIT Silchar is gradually overcoming all connectivity issues and the situation is only going to get better.
Ultimately, the final choice depends on your preferences. If you are inclined towards Mechanical, choose NIT Silchar but if you want to pursue a career in CS, definitely go for IIIT Guwahati.
Which book is preferred by IPU Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology for ECE in the first year?
One of my cousins studied at Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology (MSIT) and he never bought a single book for any branch.
You will get free access to all the books from the book bank. You will also get personal textbooks each semester as soon as you get your college IDs. There is an online portal available that helps in getting ideas about the books available in the book bank.
You will be required to pay for the book bank that has already been added to the college fee in the first year.
There is a book store outside of MSIT where students can buy books of Bhavya Publications which are easy to read and understand and written in simple language. It helps in scoring good marks in IPU.
Should I take the newly-formed ECE course in BITS, Goa?
Based on the reviews that I got from my friends at BITS Goa, I will suggest you take ECE, given the chance.
Well, it is true that ECE is new but the department for all the Electrical streams especially the ECE, ENI, and EEE is the same and so are the faculties. In fact, half of the EEE/EnI faculty at the institute have specializations in communication. So, there won’t be a lack of good faculty.
So ultimately what will finally matter is the course and looking at the present scenario even many dual degree students are choosing for ECE over EEE. Overall, it is a great branch to study.
Which is better, E&TC at VIIT Pune or a CS at PVG?

EEE and ECE are both totally different branches and both of them have their respective job opportunities. After a lot of research, I got to know about NIT Meghalaya and Nagaland. Let me discuss them, which might give you a better idea.
- In today’s world ECE has more opportunities in the private sectors whereas EEE has got more opportunities in government sectors.
- They also have different requirements for the jobs.
- In ECE you just need to maintain a good CGPA, with the basics fully memorized and you are good to go.
- For EEE and getting a government job like PSU, you need to apply for GATE and get a good rank and score.
- Placement in the ECE stream is easier than the EEE stream.
- The placements of NIT Meghalaya are a little above Nagaland.
- You can change your course in NIT Meghalaya to ECE even after selecting EEE in the first semester.

Should I try for ECE at IIIT Allahabad or ECE at MNIT Jaipur?
IIIT Allahabad and MNIT Jaipur are institutes of national importance. But if you like coding, it's not wise to search for options in ECE. ECE is a hardware-related program dealing with communication, whereas CS deals with software.
For the NIT tag, you can choose SVNIT. Among the IIITs, the best will be IIIT Bangalore ad it provides the best research opportunities. But, the best choice as per your interest is B.Tech Hons. Computational Sciences from DA-IICT.
The reasons are below.
- The institute is famous for its coding culture. A team from the institute had recently qualified for ACM ICPC World Finals.
- CS opens the gates for research opportunities if you are inclined.

How is BIET Jhansi for ECE?
ECE is quite a good branch for pursuing a B.Tech degree. If you are expecting a good placement in BIET Jhansi for electronics then it is not that simple for you to achieve. However, you will be placed in one of the software companies that visit the college’s campus for recruitment.
The placement records for CSE have been pretty good but the same cannot be said for the Electronics branch. You do not need to worry about placements now. If you really like Electronics and the concepts involved in its study, there are many other options for you as well in BIET and you will have a lot of time for self-studies.
The faculty members are a bit strict but you can bear it to some extent. You will meet some nice people there.
