Should I consider VIT Vellore over PEC Chandigarh if I am getting mechanical at both places?
A few cousins of mine have completed their B.Tech from VIT Vellore with different branches. With them being successfully placed, their experience says you must choose VIT among both of these. Here’s why:
- Mechanical engineering at VIT Vellore is far better as you will get better exposure there. There is a huge emphasis on students coming up with their innovations and technology.
- The quality of students at VIT can be easily compared with that of top NITs, as there is no caste-based reservation at VIT unlike PEC, Chandigarh.

In the end, it is best recommended to choose VIT Vellore for Mechanical engineering as it offers better exposure and opportunities. However, PEC is also a good college and its fee structure is quite nominal as compared to VIT. In case of budget constraints, go for PEC.
Is the electrical course better than the mechanical course at PEC in Chandigarh?
Two years ago, one of my friends was in the same situation. He could have taken electrical and sit for every company’s placements. If he chooses mechanical, then only core opportunities are open. Given the circumstances, he chose electrical in the first round of counseling. It was so because he would at least get a chance to sit in almost every business.
Sitting in a good company does not guarantee a good job, and mechanical engineering at PEC is far superior to that of many NITs and even IITs. Trusting his seniors and teachers, he switched to mechanical on the spot round to which he doesn't regret till now.
If you're interested in electrical, go for it. Since my friend had no particular interest in any of these subjects, he preferred mechanical over electrical.

I am a fourth year B.Tech CSE student at IIT Bhubaneswar. As per the NIRF Engineering Ranking 2023, IIT Bhubaneswar is placed 47th. Moreover, IIT Bhubaneswar recorded 100% placements in B.Tech CSE in 2023, and the average package stood at INR 25.18 LPA for this branch. The top recruiters at IIT Bhubaneswar for 2023 placements were- Accenture, Adobe, Amazon, Dell, Deloitte, HCL, Infosys, ISRO, among others.

Other than performing well in placements, the students of B.Tech CSE at IIT Bhubaneswar get to be a part of various interesting clubs and societies. These are- The Robotics and Intelligent Systems Club (RISC), Web and Design Society (WebnD), and Neuromancers (The Programming Society).

IIT Dhanbad is one of the oldest institutions to offer a degree program in Mining. The program is nearly 90 years old and has the most experienced faculty members. IIT Bhilai on the other hand is a fairly new institute.

The college campus has a pretty good infrastructure and is student-friendly. This in my opinion would work for the overall development of the enrolled students at the institute and in getting hired by reputed organizations.
Which is better, mechanical engineering from NIT Silchar, NIT Patna or NIT Goa regarding placements?
Having some friends studying in these institutes, I can say that as per what they mentioned, NIT Patna arrives with a better placement rate than the other two counterparts.
- In a nutshell, there are multiple core companies that visit the campus during the placement drive.
- These include major firms like Alston transport, L&T HED, L&T Constructions, Thermal, Havells, TATA Motors and many others.
- Other than these few, various other students secure placement offers in companies belonging to the IT sector and the Consultancy services.

But, apart from the factors mentioned above, NIT Silchar is several steps ahead because it has established one of the best campuses, unlike many. That is the only brownie point NIT Silchar enjoys. It is best if you still research vividly about the prospects implanted in either institutes, and see what suits you best.
Is CGC Landran a better choice for mechanical engineering in terms of placement and campus life?
Yes, CGC Landran is a good choice but there is no other college to compare with.
- CGC Landran is a college that focuses mainly on the computer science branch rather than the mechanical branch.
- As a college, in terms of placement and campus life, CGC is a perfect choice.
- The only disadvantage found in the college is the hostel’s food that does not taste good.

Which is better: to get Biotechnology at IIT Kanpur or Mechanical Engineering at IIT Dhanbad?
IIT Kanpur does not offer biotechnology. Instead, it offers a B.Tech in Biological sciences & Bioengineering.
This stream deals with Biochemistry, Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering, Biosensors, Devices & Technology, Bone Disease Biology, Cancer Biology, Cell & Molecular Biology, Computational Biology & Bioinformatics, Drug Delivery and Therapeutics, Genetics and Developmental Biology, Human Molecular Genetics, Neuroscience & Neurobiology and Structural Biology.
The faculty of IIT Kanpur are among the best in the world.

Both the branches are very different from each-other. Bioengineering is inclined towards Biology, while Mechanical Engineering makes greater use of Physics. But since IIT Kanpur is a much more reputed institution, and it has a bigger brand name, I would suggest you choose Bioengineering at IIT Kanpur.
The IIT Kanpur tag will help you get admission into top universities in India and Abroad for your Masters’ and Phd. This branch will open numerous opportunities for you in the area of research.
What is the level of placement in a mechanical branch of LNCT Bhopal? Will it be better to do mechanical engineering from it?
Mechanical Engineering is an evergreen branch and considering the placement rate of LNCT, which is 75-80%, it hardly provides any placements to the mechanical branch students. It means the mechanical branch students don't have the core placements.
In the year 2020, there were 3-4 companies that came to the campus for the core placements and took a very less number of students. Therefore, there are very few placement opportunities for a mechanical branch student in LNCT Bhopal.
There are either no core placements or else the Institute will ask students to apply for the marketing companies and get a placement in that domain.
But then, if a student is good with the skill set and has good abilities, prepare for the exams like GATE, ONGC. It will help him/her in the future.
Which is better, BIT Mesra for mechanical or NIT Raipur CSE?
Both the colleges, BIT Mesra and NIT Raipur are two profound colleges of the nation but comparing them based on different branches is not justified.
Talking about the mechanical and computer science branch, the scope of computer science is the higher and mechanical branches.
