DS
Disha Sengupta Posted On : September 17th, 2022
Studied at Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh

You should go for PEC Chandigarh Mechanical. The institute offers decent placements and career opportunities. The placement rate for Mechanical is around 90%. Companies visiting PEC Chandigarh placements recruit students in both core and non-core profiles. The salary packages offered are in the range of INR 3.6 LPA - 22 LPA.

Also, Production is a niche branch. The career opportunities available in the production field are limited compared to the Mechanical field.

Which branch should I opt from the CUSAT, mechanical engineering or safety and fire engineering?

PS
Praduman Singh Posted On : July 20th, 2021
B.Tech in Safety & Fire Engg from Cochin University Of Science and Technology (2020)

It depends where your interest lies. But if you think according to the placement opportunities, safety, and fire engineering is much more preferred due to the high demand in the industry. The faculty is also well-qualified along with the quality education that the college provides. But safety and fire engineering deal with a lot of safety responsibilities so, if you are opting for this branch be prepared for that.

However, if you don’t want to be confined in one specific area then go for Mechanical. As it is a core branch, you can get many specializations later.

So, choose a branch according to your interest.

Is NMIMS Mumbai campus better than the Shirpur campus for BTech Mechanical Engineering?

AJ
Advait Joshi Posted On : June 15th, 2023
Lives in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

The NMIMS campus in Mumbai is better than the Shirpur campus. The following are the reasons for the same:

  1. It is the NMIMS university's main campus.
  2. All of the important committees that represent the college, such as ENACTUS and MUN, are present.
  3. The campus is located in a prominent Mumbai suburb. Nearby are a beach, a mall, a temple, a mosque, and some fantastic restaurants and cafés such as Prithvi Café.
  4. If you stay in a hostel, you will not be disappointed with the cafeteria food; it is just delicious. In addition, the surrounding street food is excellent.
  5. Better faculty in comparison.
  6. The Shirpur campus is virtually sealed off from the rest of the city, and you are not permitted to leave the campus regularly. There are no such constraints here.
  7. The only issue with the Mumbai campus is that if you imagined your college sprawling across acres of space with luscious green grass all over it, you will be disappointed.
  8. I'm not sure about this, but I've heard that both campuses' placements are handled through the Mumbai campus solely.

This query hints that you are not inclined towards a particular branch. Instead, you wish to opt for the best option as per your ranking.

As per placements-

  1. During 2022, B.Tech ECE at MNIT Jaipur recorded 97.75% placements, and the average package was 18.01 LPA.
  1. During 2022, MANIT Bhopal B.Tech CSE recorded an average CTC of 17.45 LPA.
  1. This year, B.Tech Mechanical at MNNIT Allahabad recorded 90.24% placements, and the average CTC was 12.51 LPA.

Based on the average package, I would recommend you opt for either MNIT Jaipur ECE or MANIT Bhopal CSE. MANIT Bhopal is a good option for B.Tech CSE. You’ll have good placement prospects as a CSE student at this college. Do consult some seniors from all these colleges/branches to make a more informed choice.

It all depends on your personal preferences and what appeals to you the most. However, if none of these two branches piques your attention, then definitely mechanical engineering in PEC is the way to go.

  • Mechanical is often favored over Aerospace in terms of placement, faculty, or any other criterion.
  • Mechanical is an evergreen branch, as they claim, and they call it that for a reason.
  • It is in high demand. All industries will need the mind of a mechanical engineer today and forever.

Which college should I select for mechanical engineering, Christ University or PES Electronic City campus?

M
Mrunal Posted On : May 23rd, 2024
B.Tech Mechanical at Christ University

I am a second year B.Tech Mechanical student at Christ University Bangalore. I do not know much about PES Electronic City campus, but I can give some insight into my own university.

I was suggested to join Christ University for my engineering studies by my elder sister. She has some friends at the time who were also pursuing their B.Tech from Christ.

I selected Christ for engineering studies because-

  1. It follows a good curriculum with a decent grading system.
  2. The faculty is experienced and good at teaching.
  3. Christ offers good facilities to students. The university library is huge, and it has a vast collection of books related to engineering studies.
  4. The campus environment is good, there are sports facilities, and the campus also has a swimming pool.
  5. According to 2024 placement figures, B.Tech has received the highest package offer of 20 LPA among all the different courses offered at the university.

These are some reasons why I would suggest you choose Christ University Bangalore for your B.Tech Mechanical degree.
