What is your review about NIT Trichy EEE branch?

SP
Shrija Param Posted On : October 19th, 2023
NIT Trichy

B.Tech EEE is the most hectic course offered by NIT Trichy.

As a B.Tech EEE student, you’ll have classes and labs all day long. The faculty is experienced. Most of them are friendly and supportive, but you can only rely on self-study. You’ll have some of the brightest students as your peers. Try to befriend some of them as they will help you a lot in studies.

NIT Trichy is comparable to some of the old IITs, in terms of placements. Almost all the students of B.Tech EEE are successfully placed each year, and some of them even bag multiple offers. Those who don’t sit for placements, opt for higher studies in prestigious Indian and foreign universities.

NIT Trichy will offer you an awesome campus culture, and lifelong memories. Its EEE branch is hectic, but rewarding at the same time.

CGPA is the direct reflection of your academic performance during the four years of graduation. You will need your CGPA for higher studies, placements, internships, and scholarships. The importance of CGPA is paramount for these. Many recruiting companies visiting NIT Trichy placement, set a certain CGPA as the prerequisite.

The evaluation system isn’t without flaws and your CGPA may not reflect your true potential. But it is the only tangible proof of your efforts.

  • The faculty pool has many inefficient professors who have no interest in teaching.

BITS Hyderabad

Pros

  • It’s located in the IT hub of the country.

Cons:

  • Being a private institute, BITS Hyderabad has very high fees around ?5.72 Lakhs in the first year. 1st

Should I go for civil engineering or metallurgy and material science engineering in NIT Trichy?

SP
Sreeja Prasad Posted On : August 31st, 2021
Dual degree from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (2021)

I would suggest you go for metallurgy if you plan to do a job right after completing your degree. Metallurgy has more job opportunities to offer. With Metallurgy, you can easily learn coding and go for tech companies. NIT Trichy has a great coding culture, so picking up coding skills will not be difficult.

If you plan to prepare for civil services or any other government job, I would suggest you go for civil engineering.

When compared to metallurgy, there are fewer job opportunities in the civil department.

If you plan on doing an MBA after having done your engineering, you can opt for either of them because then it does not matter anyway.

How do we transform from NIT, Trichy to be student friendly?

SP
Sribatsa Pathy Posted On : May 22nd, 2021
B. Tech from National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India (2018)

NIT Trichy has one of the most beautiful campuses and transforming it into a friendly campus just gives a kind of skeptical feeling. I would like to share with you one of my cousin’s experiences, who recently passed out from NIT Trichy.

  • He told me how strict the faculty and admin are in NIT-T.
  • The teachers are supposed to maintain a strict student-teacher relationship.
  • While the admin is friendly enough to the students.

He says if NIT-T has to become more student-friendly, efforts have to be made by everyone. Be it students, faculty members, or the admin. The list includes the following:

  • Being organized and presenting the difficulty you face.
  • Come up with appropriate solutions to tackle it.You should present your ideas.
  • You must realize the students of NIT-T are its true asset and that a student-friendly environment is quintessential for their all-round development.
  • The faculty should be the first to lend a helping hand to students and interact.
  • Teachers need to realize that they are not merely to teach but to motivate students.
  • Yes, many have complaints regarding admin being cold and harsh and less interactive or none.
  • But, action has to be taken by keeping the students as the highest priority without compromising the ideology of NIT-T.

There is a bit of light air since the new Director is appointed in NITT. Now, this is the apt time for all of you to put forward your creative and ingenious ideas which will change NITT for the better.

Where do NIT Trichy students go for their internships?

SP
Shrija Param Posted On : July 20th, 2023
NIT Trichy

The internship offers provided to the students of NIT Trichy depend on the branch they belong to. Companies offering internship opportunities visit the campus right from the beginning of the third year.

  • Most management and marketing companies allow students of all branches to sit for placements.
  • IT giants like Amazon, Microsoft, and Uber usually prefer CSE students.
  • Companies like Nvidia, and  Qualcomm prefer students from EEE, ICE, and CSE.
  • MME students are offered very limited internship opportunities from core companies like Tata Steel, Reliance, etc

As a general trend, it is observed that CSE students receive internship offers more easily in comparison to students of other branches. Off-campus internships are also available but the pay scale offered might be less.

Why should I take Production Engineering at NIT Trichy?

SP
Shrija Param Posted On : July 20th, 2023
NIT Trichy

Production Engineering has a majority of Mechanical syllabus but the value of both the degrees is piles apart. One of my friends was a student of Production Engineering and he completed his graduation in 2013. Today, he is working in a PSU NTPC. He told me that a student who does BTech in Production Engineering has a variety of future aspects some of which have been listed below

  • You can sit for placements for companies like Hero Motocorp, Honda, Hyundai, Ashok Leyland, etc. but not if you are looking for a job in public sector companies.
  • You can go for PSUs that accept this degree like
  • NTPC, SAIL, BHEL, ISRO, Vizag Steel, NPCIL, etc.
  • If you have an interest in CS, you can also target your IT/software or Data analyst profiles which are available in abundance during placements.
  • You can prepare for competitive exams like CAT/GRE if you plan to pursue an MBA or MS.
  • You can steer your career towards entrepreneurship which does not require a very high-level degree.

These were some of the options and reasons why you can take Production Engineering at NIT Trichy.
