Is it a good decision to choose ECE in UIT-RGPV?
If you've decided to enroll at UIT RGPV and are interested in learning more about ECE, yes, compared to all other branches, ECE is a good option. As some of my friends studied there, I might be able to share some facts about the college I got to know from them.
- The faculty only guides you with certain things.
- Here you have to work hard to prepare yourself. You'll have to do everything on your own, which is ultimately done for your betterment.
- You will receive more theoretical knowledge than practical.
- Some of the faculty members might help you with the practicals, but otherwise, you have to take the initiative yourself.

If you are in ECE, there are chances that you will be placed in MNCs such as TCS, Infosys, and other IT companies, but there are very few chances that you will be placed in a core electronics company.
Which is good, MME from VNIT or ETC engineering from IIEST Shibpur?
VNIT, Nagpur and IIEST, Shibpur are two prime institutes of the nation and rank highly. Each has its own unique attractions and disadvantages. MME and ETC are highly demanded courses. While IIEST offers 64 seats for ETC, VNIT offers 115 seats for MME. NIRF has ranked IIEST at 21 whereas VNIT ranked at 27 among the NIRF Rankings

ETC graduates can work in various government jobs and a variety of development centers dealing in sales, manufacture, and services of electronics & communication customer appliances.

MME is a branch of engineering that is in huge demand. Metallurgical students can get placed in various research programs or the public and government sectors.

The admission to both institutes is done on the basis of rank secured in the national level entrance examination i.e. JEE Main.

To be eligible for admission, one must secure 75% marks in aggregate in their intermediate graduation.

IIEST: The highest package offered to IIEST students was INR 39.12 LPA. 61.9% of the ETC students were placed. Some major companies that recruit students from IIEST are Accenture, ICICI Bank, Cognizant, Microsoft, Maruti, and PWC.

VNIT: The highest package offered in campus placements was 22 LPA. 50% of the MME students were placed in recruitments. Top recruiters at this institute include L&T ECC, Reliance Industries, Deloitte, JP Morgan, Aditya Birla Group.
Facilities

IIEST: The institute offers facilities such as halls of residence, Library, Labs, Canteen, School, etc. It also provides medical facilities like hospitals and ambulances, sports and games clubs, and entrepreneurship activities.

VNIT: Students are offered Hostels, Guesthouse, Gymnasium, Sports, Health Centre, and Library facilities within the 215 acres campus. There are clubs and community shops as well.
Students must compare both the programs and colleges carefully. The decision depends on an individual’s capabilities and expectations from college life.
Which should I prefer, civil engineering at IIT Hyderabad or ECE at ISM Dhanbad?
Irrespective of the IIT tag you go for, Civil Engineering always has limited placements. Civil Engineering has become an outdated branch with little or no scope left. Although there are people who go for various options after pursuing civil engineering, which may include UPSC Examinations. What I mean is that Civil Engineering is not the right choice if your goal is placements. In that case consider ECE from ISM Dhanbad. Owing to the increased research in Machine Learning, the ECE branch is expected to grow ten folds in the coming future.
Additionally, ECE in IIT (ISM) has a pretty good coding and robotics culture, so you have both options, going for core jobs or CS jobs.
Ultimately, it’s all about personal inclinations. All I suggest is that never go for a mediocre rank just because a certain IIT is better than the other. The choice of your branch is equally important as the choice of your institute. Moreover, the Civil engineering scenario is similar in every IITs.
Can I build an appropriate profile for MS in USA while studying ECE in Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata?
Yes, you will be able to build up your profile appropriately at Heritage Institute of Technology. If you are interested in Antenna Theory and Microelectronics then, this could be a precious opportunity for you as they have their own IEE EDS Chapter.
Most of the lecturers are quite disciplined about organizing a research paper for students and if you’ll be a bit serious about your course then there are high chances of your paper being published.
Moreover, there were many seniors of my friend who gone abroad and some made up to Pen State.
Which is easier, EEE or ECE at NIT Surathkal?
I have a few friends at NIT Surathkal and based on the conversation I had with them, I will say at NIT Surathkal, ECE is considered to be the toughest branch.
- The academics and research are taken very seriously in the department.
- The professors are demanding and highly qualified than other departments.
- In this department everyone, from HOD to lab assistants, everyone is serious about studies and making a point about academic rigor.
- The exams are also very tough and students even fail in lab examinations too.
But the scenario at the EEE department of NIT Surathkal is slightly different and its biggest advantage is that it has a relaxed attendance policy, unlike other branches.

Which college should I take, integrated ECE Jaypee Noida, or CS at LNCT Bhopal?
Since one of my sisters is a part of LNCT Bhopal, it is best to limit the answer to discussing it. As per what she mentions, LNCT Bhopal is a promising institute when it comes down to departments like CSE, IT, or ECE.
- The institute offers multiple opportunities to opt from a variety of software-based companies, such as Cognizant and Infosys for a quick instance.
- However, the placement you secure usually only depends upon how well prepared you are for it.

What should I prefer, BITS Goa for ECE or NIT Rourkela for CSE?
Go for NIT Rourkela if you are getting a seat in CSE. It is considered as one of the best NITs for CSE.
The coding culture at the institute is outstanding and still developing day by day. You will be offered great exposure at NIT Rourkela. However, the institute has very high cut off and the competition is high.

BITS Pilani is a good option but not for ECE. It would be better if you go for CSE at NIT Rourkela.
Is NIT Puducherry for ECE better than IIITDM Kancheepuram for mechanical?
IIITDM Kancheepuram Mechanical is better in comparison. The department has four branches under the norms of Design and Manufacturing. The academics are practical-oriented. IIITDM follows an updated curriculum that is different from the traditional course structure of most engineering colleges. The Mechanical faculties are great. Most of them have PhDs qualifications from reputed IITs and NITs.
IIITDM Kancheepuram placements are good for Mechanical. Students of the branch get recruited as Project leads, Supervisors, Design Operators, etc. The average CTC for the branch is around INR 7 LPA.
Should I go with IIT BHU Civil or IIT Dhanbad ECE?
It is better to pursue civil engineering from IIT BHU in comparison to IIT Dhanbad. The reasons for choosing IIT BHU for pursuing Civil engineering are as follows:
- One of the oldest departments in the nation is the one for civil engineering at IIT BHU. The university is proven its academic excellence since 1949.
- In 2023 IIT BHU ranked 15 among all topmost engineering colleges of India.
- This college has a great placement system. By its placements, this college is also well renowned. The average compensation at this college is 19.09 lakhs, and the maximum package is 1.15 crore per annum.
- The tuition is comparable to other tier 1 colleges, however the students whose families make more than 5 lacs annually, there is no fee remission. Fees are waived for students whose families make less than that amount. Additionally, the SC/ST students receive various scholarships and cost exemptions.
- More than 300 faculty members work at IIT BHU. The college's staff is exceptionally knowledgeable, and each professor has a Ph.D. and years of experience doing substantial research at prestigious universities both domestically and internationally.
- Manoj Sinha (2nd Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and Former Minister of State, Railways and Communication), Varun Grover (National Film Award-winning Lyricist and Songwriter. Famous for writing the songs of Gangs of Wasseypur), and many more eminent persons the alumni of this institution.

Which is better, production engineering at NIT Agartala or ECE at NIT Mizoram?
Your decision completely depends on your priority as to what is the most important to you, the branch or the college. Being a graduate from NIT Agartala, I would suggest you go for NIT Agartala rather than NIT Mizoram.
- If college is the most important to you then you should go for NIT Agartala. The infrastructure is far better than most of the NITs.
- You may have to face some trouble regarding the faculties as they are not up to the mark.
- If the branch is your priority go for ECE, however, Production Engineering also has grown as a department. You can make your careers in Supply Change, Quality Management, and Control, etc.
- Other than this, your choice should depend upon the location. Give preference to the one that's closer to your home.
- Both the colleges are tier 3 Indian engineering colleges and the graduates have been working in companies with a package of 3 to 4 lakhs per annum.

Both branches are equally good in their own ways. But ultimately it is your decision to choose where you want to study. It is suggested that you go for NIT Agartala as it is a more experienced institution than NIT Mizoram.
