Is NIT Trichy better than IIT Mandi?

AB

It is difficult to say which is better between IIT Mandi and top NITs, as it depends on individual preferences and priorities. Both IIT Mandi and top NITs have their own strengths and weaknesses, and it would be best to research and compare them based on factors such as location, campus facilities, faculty, research opportunities, and placement records.

However, I feel the quality of college life offered is a very crucial factor. That being said, IIT Mandi offers a better campus experience than NITs.

  • Being an IIT, it attracts the best crowd.
  • IIT Mandi has a laid-back and peaceful campus away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
  • The academics are also not very challenging and the peer pressure is less.
  • The college focuses on extracurricular activities too and has many clubs that provide a plethora of opportunities to discover your passions apart from academics.
  • The seniors here are very cooperative and you will develop a close bond with them.
  • The college hosts some amazing fests like Exodia, Rann-Neeti, Aakarshan, and many more.

Ultimately, the decision should be based on your own personal preferences and goals.

Every year, there is a change in the marking scheme and exam pattern of JEE Advanced so it’s difficult to tell you if you can get admission to IIT Mandi or Guwahati with a score of 250. The best way is to refer to the JEE Advanced cutoff. The IIT that will accept you depends on your JEE rank. You cannot predict the rank before the main JEE examination.

Here is the IIT Mandi and IIT Guwahati JEE Advanced cutoff 2022 for your reference (2022)

Rather than giving my own input, I’d rather rank them on the basis of official rankings done by esteemed ranking bodies.

NIRF 2022

  1. IIT Mandi- 20 out of 200
  2. IIT Ropar- 22 out of 200
  3. IIT Jodhpur- 30 out of 200
  4. IIT Indore- 31 out of 200
  5. IIT Bhubaneswar- 65 out of 200

India today

  1. IIT Indore- 17 out of 192 colleges
  2. IIT Ropar-19 out of 192 colleges
  3. IIT Mandi-25 out of 192 colleges
  4. IIT Jodhpur-34 out of 192
  5. IIT Bhubaneswar- 36 out of 192

In general, the preference order should be

IIT Mandi=IIT Indore>IIT Ropar>IIT Jodhpur>IIT Bhubaneswar.
