SG
Srinivas Gunda Posted On : February 7th, 2023
Audit Senior at BDO USA, LLP (2019–present)

Your job prospects are defined by your specialization and the industry or sector you are willing to choose.

Domains like International Business, Sales, marketing, or strategic planning can fetch you a package of around 15 Lakh to 30 Lakh INR. You can expect a higher salary if you invest in your core education and experience.

You can go for other sectors too and secure jobs in MNCs that offer packages as high as INR 50 Lakh. The roles offered by Tech companies like Google, IBM, and GE offer some of the most coveted roles. At the end, all that matters is your profile and your job inclinations.

How good is IIM Lucknow as compared to IIM A, B, C, and ISB for Consulting and Network Building?

SZ
Saher Zehra Posted On : January 16th, 2023
Former PhD Candidate at Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (2017–2020)

In India, IIM Lucknow is worth far more than ISB, particularly in MNCs and finance/marketing jobs.

The talk of a consulting and network-building pedigree revolves more around their flagship PGPX program and their tentacles in Microsoft and Cisco, both of which recognize the limited role of an MBA in their industry and provide well-defined jumps to ISB graduates back on campus. In the last 2-3 years, IIM Lucknow has done fairly well in global placements, and the sky is the limit for the right student.

It is clear that your decision should be motivated by your prospects of performance at either campus and should be carefully considered.

It is true that those who can balance pressures and perform consistently have an advantage when it comes to placements on campus. Also, mobility in the industry should matter without the help of your b-school label and should be about your performance on the job in making friends. Students from each campus meet everyone on an equal footing in the industry.

Only if you accepted a different field in your campus placement or were assigned a backroom job will you face unequal pressure, as neither pedigree allows you much mobility.

Is ISB Hyderabad easy to study in for a student with 2 years of work experience?

RS
Rachit Sengupta Posted On : April 26th, 2023
studied at Indian School of Business

If you are a student in a class and have some amount of work experience, you will be able to relate the learnings to your work experience earlier. This will help you frame better opinions and ideas related to the subject being taught.

The program delivery in class is designed in such a way that students are expected to participate in discussions about the subject being taught. By participating actively, you will be able to enhance your learning experience and gain more insights into the subject.

Even though there is no correlation between the ease of study and work experience, the Indian School of Business (ISB) requires a minimum of 2 years of work experience for admission. If you meet this requirement, you are eligible to apply for the program.

If you can relate the ease of study to scoring well on exams, then it is worth mentioning that many toppers in the program have 2 years of work experience.

It is true that there are different levels of work experience among students in the class. This mimics the real-time environment at work where you have to work with people of different levels of work experience. This diversity adds a lot to the learning experience and helps you gain a broader perspective on the subject.

To sum up, having work experience before joining a program like ISB can be beneficial as it helps you relate to the subject matter better and gain a broader perspective on the real-world applications of the concepts. However, it is not a requirement for admission, and the program is designed to accommodate students with diverse backgrounds and levels of work experience.

To determine your eligibility for admission to ISB Hyderabad, the GRE score is a crucial factor to consider. It is recommended to check if your score falls within the range of scores of previously admitted students, which has been approximately between 311 to 335.

If your GRE score falls within this range, it's important to reflect on whether your score is the best that you can achieve, and if a retake may lead to an improvement. In addition to the GRE score, there are other important factors that will be evaluated to determine your admission to ISB Hyderabad. These include:

  1. Your academic profile. As the academic program at ISB is rigorous, it is important to consider if your previous academic performance indicates that you would perform well in the program.
  2. Your work experience. The quality of work experience you bring to the program is important in evaluating if an MBA education would add value to your career and if you would be able to make valuable contributions in class.
  3. Your future plans. This is an important aspect that is considered when evaluating your candidacy to determine if ISB would be the right fit for you.
  4. Your personal and professional characteristics. Your personal and professional attributes and achievements, including any data points that highlight your competitiveness, will be considered as part of the evaluation process.

It is important to keep in mind all of these factors when determining if your GRE score is sufficient for admission to ISB Hyderabad.

RR
Ranjit Roy Posted On : June 18th, 2021
MBA Strategy & Marketing, Indian School of Business (2019)

Yes, you need to have a work experience of 2 years at the time of admission to the PGP program of ISB Hyderabad.

  • Your experience should have been completed before the admission session starts.
  • You have to submit your experience certificate along with a good GMAT scorecard, your CV, and recommendation letters.
  • In the application, you should also mention your long-term and short-term and your participation in extracurricular activities.

These things would increase your chances of getting selected. ISB College has campuses in both Hyderabad and Mohali but you will not be an option to choose one of them. The decision lies with the admission committee.

What kind of placements do lawyers get after an MBA from ISB Hyderabad?

MB
Manoj Bhagat Posted On : February 6th, 2023
ASE at Accenture India and Black Tiger , Associate at Accenture (2020-present)

My friend is both an LLB and a company secretary. She graduated from ISB Hyderabad a few years ago and was offered a plethora of opportunities in both legal and non-legal positions. She claims the placement scenario to be beneficial. She was interviewed by 4-5 recruiters and received offers from 2 of them. She had also applied to a boutique I-Bank in Singapore and was offered a decent position there. All these clearly state the versatile opportunities a lawyer can get after doing an MBA from ISB Hyderabad.

My friend finally opted for a management consulting firm on campus. Her work revolved around the legal and financial structuring of infrastructure projects. Soon after she left the job and became a CEO of a hospital. She finally settled with her own private Legal Practice and today she helps people and companies with their legal problems. The conclusion from her career journey is that a lawyer has many opportunities post-MBA. All he needs to do is make the best out of each.

How can you compare ISB's CBA vs IIM Bangalore's BAI courses?

AS
Ankit Srivastava Posted On : July 27th, 2021
Studied at Delhi University (2019)

Some of my friends are studying in both the institutes and according to their firsthand experience, both the courses differ from each other. For a clearer view, you must take a look at the major pros and cons of both of them.

Pros:

ISB CBA:

  • ISB CBA has a great campus and you will be lucky to have a global faculty.
  • You will get tremendous networking opportunities with 100+ batches as you will be among brilliant talents.
  • Most of the pedagogy includes offline methods whereas online teaching is only limited to tutorials.
  • Some of the best Faculties in the institute are Prof Shailesh, Prof Sarang Deo, Prof Arun, and Prof Sudhir Voleti.
  • As the CBA course is a full-time course, you will also benefit by getting the ISB Brand Value. This might help you get recognition.

IIM Bangalore BAI:

  • You will get global faculty and excellent peers to be with.
  • No one can compete with IIM’s brand value.
  • As the course is mostly offered in online mode, it is quite ideal if you are a working person.

Cons:

  • ISB CBA: The fees are quite expensive for most middle-class students. There should be more career opportunities that justify the cost.
  • IIM Bangalore BAI: You are not allowed to stay within the campus which significantly reduces your chances to enjoy vast networking.

Both the courses come with their own pros and cons while holding a big brand value, therefore the decision lies in your hand.
