Having friends from Thapar University and reading some online reviews about it, I gathered some facts about the college. Let me share what I learned about their placements and the salary packages offered. This information might help you answer your question.

• The highest package offered for electrical engineering was 8 lakhs from the Vedanta Group. 
• But few students were selected for an internship in Procter and Gamble which offered 16 lakhs depending on the performance in the internship.

Statistics for Electrical Engineering –

Placements for Electrical Engineering, Electronics (Instrumentation and Control) Engineering, and Electronics and Computer Engineering is more than 90%. The average salary package ranges from 5 to 6 LPA.

NIT Bhopal also called MANIT (Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology) is approved by MHRD and AICTE. It is ranked 65 for BTech and 101 overall by NIRF 2020. BTech in Electrical Engineering is offered as a 4 year full time course.

IIEST is considered to be one of the top engineering colleges in India. It is ranked 43 overall and 21 for BTech by NIRF 2020. The Mechanical Engineering dual degree is a 10 semester course with 3 specializations: Machine Design, Thermal Engineering and Manufacturing Science.

• Selection will be based on the JEE Main ranks.
• Application fee at IIEST, Shibpur is INR 1500.

NIT Bhopal 

• The median salary package offered was 6.5 LPA.

• Therecruiting companies include Accenture, TCS, Wipro, L&T Infotech, HCL, Microsoft, Saint Gobain, Adobe, etc.

IIEST Shibpur

• Out of 603 eligible students 146 were placed.
• 90 companies participated in the placement program.
• Therecruiting companies include TATA, ITC, GE Digital, Reliance, PWC, IBM, Mu Sigma, etc.

Facilities 

NIT Bhopal

• They have 9 boys hostel and 2 girls hostel.
• Facilities like a Library, Extracurricular Space for Sports, Swimming Pool, Basketball and Badminton Courts, Gym, Meditation Hall and other facilities like an auditorium, cafe, children’s park, post office, computer centre and Rolta Incubation Centre.

IIEST Shibpur

• They have a faculty of over 250 members.
• They have a total of 18 hostels 3 of them being girls hostels.
• They also have sports facilities, computer labs, hospitals, mess and canteens.

Both the colleges are reputed and are considered the top Engineering colleges in India. A BTech degree is of 4 years, if you want to opt for a dual degree you will receive an MTech degree too all in the span of 5 years. The choice depends on you and your preferences, both are equally important and respected institutions for Engineering.

Heritage Institute of Technology is a good private institute if you want to pursue electrical engineering. The placements at Heritage are also good and there is no shortage of candidates looking for admission.

All the branches in Heritage are good. The same goes for the electrical engineering branch. The equipment in the library is well maintained. The environment is also friendly.

The students in the department of CSE get placed the most followed by the students of IT. The students ECE and EE come after them. Placements however are determined by your hard work and dedication.

The faculty at Heritage is arguably one of the best of all the private engineering institutes in West Bengal. So Heritage will prove to be a good choice.

Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) is one of the renowned private universities located in Gandhinagar. It is ranked 177 by NIRF for BTech. The university offers a BTech for Electrical Engineering and the admission is through JEE Mains. PDPU charges 9.73 lakhs for BTech courses.

Vishwakarma Govt. Engineering College is recognized by AICTE and administered by DTE Gujarat. It offers a BE program in Electrical Engineering and admission to the program is made on the basis of the JEE Main score or GUJCET score. The course fee is INR 6,000.

Faculty:

PDPU:

• The teaching quality is great at PDPU and the course curriculum is updated.

• Students get to learn about the recent advances in the field of technology from frequent industrial visits which is one of the advantages.

Vishwakarma Govt. Engineering College:

• The faculty at Vishwakarma Govt. Engineering College is highly qualified.

• The course curriculum is updated and is not the traditional one followed in the majority of universities.

Placement:

PDPU:

• Top companies like Honeywell, UOP, L&T technology services, torrent Power, Jubilant life sciences, Byju's, torrent gas, Shell, Adani power, Coromandel international, and many more companies are some of the top recruiters to participate in the placement drive of PDPU.

• About 65% of the students got placed from the college with the highest salary INR 10 lacs per annum.

Vishwakarma Govt. Engineering College:

• Placements at Vishwakarma are very precise. Over a hundred companies attended the college for offering jobs to students in the year 2019.

• Some of the top recruiters were Nvidia, Amazon, Whirlpool, cognizant, etc.

Infrastructure:

PDPU:

• Campus facilities at PDPU are GREAT. All labs are well equipped with Wi-Fi and well-organized and updated.

• Indoor sports like chess and carrom are available for students interested in them.

Vishwakarma Govt. Engineering College:

• Wi-Fi facility is not provided by Vishwakarma Govt. Engineering College but well-equipped labs are available and classrooms are huge.

• Library facilities are also available for students with diverse books.
