IMT Ghaziabad is better. It is a reputed B-School with an excellent placement record. IMT is a renowned name in the marketing sector. IMT Ghaziabad placements 2022 had witnessed the highest CTC of INR 62 LPA. Morgan Stanley, Accenture, Goldman Sachs, BCG, etc. take part in the campus drive of IMT.
TISS is an institute of Social Sciences and offers MAs, not MBAs. The course structure and learning are different.

How good is IMT Ghaziabad for PGDM - HR specialization in terms of the placements?
One of my relatives was part of the 2014 -16 PGDM batch of IMT Ghaziabad. This answer is based on her experience at the institute.
In her batch, there were 30 students with HR specialization out of the whole 680 batch strength. The overall average CTC offered to them was decent enough, however, the salary packages offered to students were a mixed bag.
For 2020 batch, the average CTC offered to students was 12 LPA while the highest package was 58.22 LPA
HR is a business function that is hugely impacted by AI/ML/Automation trends, so if you are truly interested in building a career in HR, learning and leveraging these skills can be really useful.
Being said all the above if you have time and you are keen on HR, looking for a better alternative will be wise.
How is the MBA part time of IMT Ghaziabad?

An 85 percentile in XAT is a pretty decent score but let’s not limit the options till IMT Ghaziabad. This institution has witnessed an escalation in terms of placement opportunities and infrastructure development in recent years.
Moreover, the record of previous years has produced a higher minimum percentile bar for admissions. Your score of 85 percentile would not fetch you a call from IMT Ghaziabad.
Instead, you should opt for other colleges such as LIBA, Fore School of Business, BIMTECH, Christ University, NL Dalmia, Welingkar, Nirma University, etc.
If you prefer top B-schools and aim at getting into these institutions then it is advisable to appear for CAT again and score 95 percent and above to opt for them.
