Vivekananda Global University recently organized its first Startup20x, Curriculum Conclave honoring more than 1000 students. Experts from the country also discussed the NEP, its implementation.
New Delhi: Vivekananda Global University’s Startup20x event was conducted for two days and was attended by several students, faculty members, industry experts, and investors. The main objective of this session was to develop an entrepreneurial mindset in students, promoting multidisciplinary core and open elective courses, ensuring quality teaching pedagogy, fine-tuning academic regulations and implementing e-governance, etc.
Dr Shakeela Shamsu, a former OSD for the NEP at the department of higher education mentioned that since the NEP was aspirational in character, there would be some early implementation issues. She also pointed out that the institutes will gradually develop an understanding of the flexibility in the NEP at the VGU two-day Curriculum Conclave ‘Saaransh’.
The conclave was decided into seven sessions where the students showcased their innovative ideas and business plans to a panel of judges on ideas ranging from sustainable technology solutions to social entrepreneurship initiatives, showcasing the diversity and creativity of the students. VGU honored more than 1000 students who secured 70% or more in their Class 12, thus awarding each of them with appreciation certificates and gold medals.
Students who excelled in various other disciplines such as entrepreneurship, art, music, sports, fashion, dance, and design, were also supported in this program. Students also received monetary awards from VGU of INR 5000 each for their overall development.
The success of the first Startup20x, Curriculum Conclave has set the stage for future editions and reaffirmed VGU's position as a leading institution for fostering entrepreneurship and innovation.
