University of Western Australia has opened its first India campus in Mumbai. Applications are open for undergraduate postgraduate and MBA programs across STEM and Business. Classes begin September 2026 at the Andheri East campus.

The University of Western Australia (UWA) has opened its first India campus in Mumbai on September 18, 2026. The Andheri East campus welcomes admissions for undergraduate, postgraduate, and MBA programs. Applications are open on the official portal at applyindia.uwa.edu.au.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Western Australia Premier Roger Cook inaugurated the campus. UWA Vice-Chancellor Professor Amit Chakma led the university delegation. The Mumbai campus is the first Australian university branch in India under the University Grants Commission (UGC) framework.
The campus is spread across 70,000 square feet in Andheri East. It sits close to Mumbai's corporate hubs, the airport, and the Metro network. UWA has committed an initial investment of USD 80 million for the India operations.
Programs Offered at UWA Mumbai Campus
The Mumbai campus offers courses across STEM and Business streams. Students earn a UWA qualification that carries the same recognition as the Perth campus.
