University of Kashmir Engineering Admission 2026 Registration Extended

The Directorate of Admissions and Competitive Examinations (DACE), University of Kashmir, Srinagar, has officially extended the last date for submission of online application forms for admission to B.Tech and M.Tech programmes for the 2026 session. As per the official extension notice issued by DACE in response to repeated requests from aspirants, the new deadline for both programmes is May 21, 2026. The original notifications were issued vide Admission Notification Nos. 07 and 08 of 2026 dated April 21, 2026.

The Directorate has also clarified that candidates who have already submitted their forms but not yet updated their eligibility details can do so by the same extended deadline. Separately, the M.Tech application window for non-GATE candidates will open from June 1 to June 30, 2026.

B.Tech Admission 2026

B.Tech admission at the University of Kashmir is based on JEE Main 2026 scores. Selection is based on the best of two JEE Main 2026 attempts. The programme spans four years across eight semesters and is offered in specialisations including Computer Science Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering, across university campuses.

B.Tech Eligibility

M.Tech Admission 2026

The M.Tech programme at the University of Kashmir is offered in Computer Science and Embedded Systems, with a total intake of 44 seats (22 seats per specialisation). GATE 2026 is the primary selection criterion for the first admission window, closing May 21, 2026. Non-GATE candidates will have a dedicated application window from June 1 to June 30, 2026.

The minimum eligibility for M.Tech is a graduation degree from a recognised university. Candidates must also meet department-specific qualification requirements as listed in the admission prospectus. The M.Tech academic fee for 2025-26 was Rs. 87,650 per year; 2026 fee details are to be confirmed at the time of admission.

How to Apply

Applications are submitted online through the official university portal. Candidates must register at kashmiruniversity.net, log in, and fill in personal and academic details, upload a passport-size photograph, and select campus preferences. Preferences once finalised after the last date cannot be changed. Application fees must be paid online; no cash transactions are accepted. Candidates who have already applied but missed updating eligibility details can still do so by May 21, 2026.
