Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya Attends IIM Ahmedabad Healthcare Summit 2023 as Chief Guest

New Delhi: IIM Ahmedabad has recently organised the inaugural edition of the IIMA Healthcare Summit 2023 on the theme of 'Catalysing innovation - startup ecosystem and policy research’, on August 5, 2023. 

The inaugural IIMA Healthcare Summit consisted of two-panel discussions on startup competition and the submission of research papers. It aims to bring together industry leaders, academics, researchers, and government officials on a common platform.

The Union Minister of Health, and family welfare, and Chemicals and Fertilisers Minister, Mansukh Mandaviya attended the event as a Chief Guest. Director of IIM Ahmedabad, Bharat Bhasker did the opening ceremony.

Additionally, Pankaj R Patel, Chairperson of the IIMA Board of Governors, delivered the inaugural address at the event. The valedictory address was delivered by the Union Secretary of Pharmaceuticals Department, S Aparna.

Tarun Jain, Chairperson of Centre for Management of Health Services (CMHS), IIMA; Viswanath Pingali, the Executive Member of CMHS and Associate Professor in Economics at IIMA, as well as several business leaders and IIMA alumni, also attended the summit. 

Speaking on this occasion, Bharat Bhaskar said, “The Indian healthcare sector is witnessing unprecedented growth over the last few years. Technological advancements and innovations have further accelerated its growth making India one of the most sought-after healthcare services destinations across the world.”

He further added that “To ensure that this growth is widespread and sustainable, it is important that we look at promoting innovation and encourage start-ups as well as review our policy-making efforts, to nurture a robust system that will ensure a well-balanced growth of the healthcare sector across the country, from metros to remote areas”.
