Union Education Minister and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan addresses the 9th convocation of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) in Katra.

New Delhi: The 9th convocation of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) in Katra was addressed by Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, as the keynote speaker. He tweeted, "Hearty best wishes for a bright future to all the students who received degrees in the 9th convocation ceremony of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University today."

He expressed his firm belief that as these students step into society, they will carry forward the rich heritage of Jammu and Kashmir, propelling themselves toward success. The nation holds high expectations for the students graduating from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University.

The event was attended by prominent figures, including Board members, Vice-Chancellors from various universities, Heads of Departments from educational institutions, senior officials from Civil and Police administration, and students and faculty members of SMVDU.

In his address, the Union Education Minister highlighted Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's emphasis on prioritizing competency over degrees. He emphasized SMVDU's role as a research and design-centric university. He expressed his complete confidence that its students will lead in this technology-driven era, becoming significant contributors to societal, national, and global progress.

The convocation also hosted the presence of Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj, who urged students to exercise patience, pursue their dreams passionately, and seize the opportunity to acquire new skills. He emphasized the wealth of opportunities in contemporary fields and encouraged graduating students to assess their skills to achieve their objectives effectively.
