Telangana State Council of Higher Education’s pharmacy entrance test is part of TS EAMCET and admission to medical colleges is held through NEET.

TSCHE Proposes Name Change for TS EAMCET; Check Details Here

New Delhi: The Telangana Government will change the name of TS EAMCET as per the request from the Telangana State Council of Higher Education. This proposal was made based on the fact that admission to medical colleges is done through NEET whereas the government is conducting the entrance exam for pharmacy programmes through the TS EAMCET.

As per the report of Telangana Today, The decision to rename will lead to the deduction of ‘medical’ and adding ‘pharmacy’ in the Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture, and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET). The exam will either be called the TS Engineering, Pharmacy, and Agricultural Common Entrance Test (TS EPACET) or the TS Engineering, Agricultural, and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test (TS EAPCET).

An official of TSCHE reported to Telangana today that “The proposal to change the name of TS EAMCET has been sent to the government and a GO copy is expected shortly.” The name change will not interfere with the admission process to entrance exams of engineeringagriculture, and pharmacy programmes conducted by TSCHE.

It is expected that TSCHE will conduct the entrance exam for various courses in May. The entrance test for pharmacy and agriculture will be held on May 10 and 11, 2024 and for the engineering programme will be on May 12.
