Anna University has started TANCET 2026 registration on March 16 for admission to MBA and MCA programs. The entrance exam will be held on May 9, 2026.

The registration process for the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) 2026 has begun on the official portal. This entrance examination is conducted by Anna University for admission to postgraduate professional programmes, including M.B.A. and M.C.A., offered at University Departments, Government and Government-aided colleges, and self-financing institutions across Tamil Nadu. The last date to complete the online registration process is April 10, 2026 (Friday).
Through TANCET, candidates can seek admission to prestigious programmes offered by the University Departments of Anna University, Chennai, Anna University Regional Campuses, and University Colleges of Engineering. The examination is also the primary gateway for admissions at Annamalai University and various standalone institutions in the state.
According to the official schedule, the TANCET 2026 entrance examination will be conducted on May 9, 2026 (Saturday). To accommodate candidates appearing for both papers, the exams will be held in two separate sessions: the M.C.A. exam in the morning and the M.B.A. exam in the afternoon.

The entrance test fee for TANCET is Rs. 500 for candidates belonging to the SC, SCA, and ST categories of Tamil Nadu, while candidates from other categories are required to pay Rs. 1000. This fee is applicable per entrance test. If a candidate chooses to apply for both M.B.A. and M.C.A., they must pay the relevant fee for each program.
The examination will follow an offline (pen-and-paper) format using an OMR response system. Candidates should be mindful of the marking scheme, which awards +1 mark for correct answers and deducts -1/4 mark for every incorrect response.
