SMAT 2025: Eligibility Criteria
Admission through SMAT
- Open Category: Minimum 50% in HSC and graduation.
- Reserved Category (Maharashtra Domicile): Minimum 45% in HSC and graduation.
Admission through MAH CET
- Open Category: Minimum 50% percentile.
- Reserved Category: Minimum 45% percentile.
IISM Selection Criteria for Sports Management Programs
The International Institute of Sports Management (IISM) follows a rigorous selection process to identify candidates with the potential to excel in the sports management field.
Stage 1: SMAT (Sports Management Admission Test)
The SMAT is an 80-mark entrance test designed to evaluate candidates’ aptitude in the following areas:
- Quantitative Analysis
- Data Interpretation
- Logical Reasoning
- Verbal Reasoning
- Verbal Ability
- Sports Awareness
Exemption for MAH CET Aspirants
Candidates applying for the Master of Sports Management (MSM) or Post Graduate Program in Sports and Wellness Management (PGPS & WM) through MAH-CET scores are exempted from taking the SMAT 2025 exam.
Caselets and Overall Performance
Caselets carry 100 marks and assess:
- Academic Scores
- Sports Achievements
- Extra-curricular Activities
The caselets are designed to gauge a candidate’s:
- Analytical thinking and planning abilities.
- Knowledge of current affairs and sports-related topics.
- Ability to handle real-world scenarios in sports management.
The test is conducted online, and candidates must appear at designated test centers.
Qualifying Criteria:
Stage 1: Minimum Qualifying Marks
Candidates need a minimum of 50% marks in Stage 1 to progress to the next stage.
Stage 2: Panel Interview
The Panel Interview is the second stage of the selection process and is evaluated out of 120 marks.
Note: Candidates must achieve a minimum of 60% cumulative marks across both Stage 1 (SMAT) and Stage 2 (Panel Interview) to secure admission.
