New Delhi: Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM) has ranked among the top 50 global universities in the QS World Ranking 2024.
IIM Bangalore has been ranked 38th in the top 50 universities globally. It has been ranked on the basis of the two MBA programs offered.
The one-year Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management has moved up three places from last year to secure the 47th rank. The two-year Post Graduate Programme in Management has secured 32nd rank this year.
IIMB figured amongst the top 14.8% globally out of 318 programs ranked by QA, this year, the institute said in a release said.
The Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) is a master’s level programme, leading to the grant of a degree of Master of Business Administration (MBA). The two-year full-time residential programme is designed to equip students to take on leadership roles in an increasingly complex and dynamic global scenario. It lasts six trimesters, spread over two years, with a summer project intermediary.
The PGPEM is a programme designed for working mid-level and senior executives with a minimum of four years of work experience after graduation.
Launched in 1998, the programme is rigorous and scheduled on weekends to make it accessible to those who do not want to leave their jobs while pursuing a master’s degree.
The purpose of the programme is to complement the excellent functional knowledge and experience that participants possess with contemporary management knowledge, thereby preparing them to manage greater responsibilities in a liberalized and globalized economy.
Students are provided with a strong grounding in general management through the core courses in the first year and ample opportunity to acquire specialized knowledge through a rich choice of electives in the second year. A unique feature of this programme is that students can choose not only from the electives offered by the PGPEM but also from the other degree-granting programmes at IIMB.
