New Delhi: Osmania University (OU) made the decision to postpone all of the exams that were scheduled to be administered on July 20 and 21, 2023, as a result of the substantial amount of rain that occurred in Hyderabad and other Telangana regions on those days. The choice was made following the declaration of a two-day holiday for all Telangana educational institutions by the state government.
Telangana's minister of education, Sabitha Indra Reddy, had earlier announced the decision on Twitter, writing, "Considering the heavy rainfall in the state and under the instructions of the Honourable CM, KCR garu, the Govt has decided to declare holidays for two days to all education institutions in the state".

Osmania University postponed the tests in response to the statement and stated that the rescheduled timetable for all of the postponed exams will be released on OU's website in due course. The exams in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were also postponed by Dr BR Ambedkar Open University (BROU) because of the nonstop rain.
Exam dates that have been rescheduled will be revealed later. The exams scheduled to be held on July 20 & 21, 2023, are anticipated to be postponed by all other universities in the state.
IMD Hyderabad predicted that till July 24, 2023, the state would experience severe downpours. However, the meteorological service forecast that the city's prolonged periods of heavy rain will end July 20, 2023.
