National Institute of Technology, Warangal has released its PhD admission schedule for December 2025 at (admissions.nitw.ac.in). The list of shortlisted candidates for the written test or interview will be displayed on November 11, 2025.
Further written tests and/or interviews have been scheduled from November 17, 2025, to November 21, 2025. The list of selected candidates will be released on Nov 28, 2025, and Online reporting & fee payment have been scheduled from December 5, 202,5, to December 8, 2025.
Selected candidates must report to the institution for document verification from December 11, 2025, to December 12, 2025.
The selected candidates under the full-time PhD program are eligible to receive INR 37,000 per month for the first two years and INR 42,000 per month for the next three years, if they fulfill PhD guidelines.

NIT Warangal PhD Admission Categories
NIT Warangal admission categories for the PhD programme shall be classified under two categories:
Full Time: There are 7 categories in the full-time PhD program: The age limit for full-time students on the institute fellowship is 30 years for GEN/GEN-EWS, 33 years for OBC-NCL, and 35 years for SC/ST/PwD/Female candidates.
Candidates holding a valid fellowship from the Government or semi-government fellowship awardees/ FIP (UGC)/CSIR/UGC/DOE/DST/DBT, etc.
Full-time project fellows/ JRF/ SRF appointed to carry out R&D projects at NITW. Full-time sponsored candidates from Industry/ R&D organizations. Indian Council for Cultural Relations(ICCR) fellowship awardees (Foreign students).
Full-time external candidates (CSIR/ JRF/ SRF Fellows) working in National Research Laboratories/ R&D Organizations having the necessary facilities. Full-time Self-financed (Rules of reservation are not applicable). A master's degree is compulsory.
Part-time: There are 4 categories in the part-time PhD program: Permanent faculty from Private Academic Institutions. Both permanent and contractual faculty from Educational Institutions fully funded by the Government or maintained by the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Mode.
Permanent Employees from Private Industries with R&D facilities with membership in CII/ ASSOCHAM or any other similar membership. Permanent employees working in Government R&D laboratories/ Government Organizations/ Government Industry/ PSUs/ State Undertakings.

Once the application submission ends, the institute will release the list of shortlisted candidates for the test and or the interview. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official website of NIT Warangal (https://admissions.nitw.ac.in/).
