Nirma University PhD Admission 2026 Schedule Out; Apply by May 16 @nirmauni.ac.in

Nirma University, Ahmedabad, has released the tentative schedule for its Ph.D. Admissions for the academic year 2026-2027. The  Nirma University invites applications for both Full-Time and Part-Time  Ph.D. programs  across various disciplines, including Technology, Management, Pharmacy, Science, Law, and Architecture. Eligible candidates must submit their online applications by May 16, 2026.

The selection process, comprising a written entrance test and personal interview/presentation, is scheduled to take place between June 20 and July 24, 2026, in offline mode at the university campus. Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 1,250. Payments should be made online via Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking.

• Departments of Technology: Chemical, Civil, Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical Engineering, etc.

Nirma University PhD Admission 2026 Eligibility Criteria

• Master’s Degree: A Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline with at least 55% marks in aggregate (or equivalent grade).
• Bachelor’s Degree: A 4-year Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with at least 75% marks in aggregate.
• M.Phil Degree: Candidates with an M.Phil degree (at least 55% marks) are also eligible.
• Appearing Candidates: Those in the final year of their qualifying degree can apply, provided they meet the criteria at the time of joining.

Nirma University PhD Admission 2026 Selection Process

1. Entrance Test: A written test consisting of 50% Research Methodology and 50% Subject-specific content. The qualifying mark is 50%.
2. Exemption: Candidates who have qualified UGC-NET (including JRF) / UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF) / GATE / GPAT with a valid score are exempted from the entrance test and will directly appear for the interview.
3. Interview/Presentation: Qualified candidates must present their research interests/area before the Departmental Research Committee (DRC).
4. Final Merit: Computed with 70% weightage to the Entrance Test and 30% weightage to the Interview/Presentation.
