Demands for a reexamination of NEET-UG 2024 have surged amid allegations of a paper leak in Patna. Students and social and political activists are urging authorities to conduct a fresh exam to ensure fairness.

New Delhi: The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police has revealed a massive paper leak scandal regarding the NEET UG medical exam held on May 5, 2024. Brokers allegedly leaked question papers to candidates in exchange for exorbitant money, raising concerns about the fairness and transparency of the NEET-UG 2024 exam. 

Brokers charged candidates between INR 30 lakh and INR 50 lakh each. Candidates were promised leaked question papers before the examination and accommodated in lodges in Patna. Candidates were allegedly given question papers under the guise of NEET-UG papers for memorization. 

As a result of this, students and social and political activists are urging authorities to conduct a fresh exam to ensure fairness and maintain the integrity of the admission process.

NEET UG 2024 Paper Leak Network Exposed

Social & Political Activists, Dr Vivek Pandey and Mukesh Bangra emphasise urgency and call for justice. Bihar Police initiates a thorough investigation into alleged irregularities surrounding NEET-UG 2024. Thirteen individuals, including organisers and parents implicated in the paper leak, have been arrested.

An eight-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by EOU SP Madan Kumar Anand was formed to crack the case. Gang members operated from Learn Boys Hostel and Learn Play School in Khemnichak, Patna. Sanjiv Singh was identified as the mastermind behind the scandal. 

NEET 2024 examination was conducted on May 5, 2024, across 4,750 examination centers in 571 cities nationwide and internationally. Approximately 22 lakh candidates participated in an applicant pool of around 25 lakh. Reports of alleged leakage of the NEET 2024 question paper surfaced, refuted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), confirming the exam's successful conduct.
