MHT CET CAP 2026 Institutional Round Admission Begins Sept 8

The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell) has opened fresh admissions for the MHT CET Centralised Admission Process (CAP) 2026 Institutional Round. The process is live at fe2026.mahacet.org. Registered candidates can now apply for vacant engineering seats.

The round covers seats left vacant after CAP Round 4. Colleges must upload admitted candidate details by September 14, 2026, at 5:00 PM. After the deadline, the portal will be locked for the 2026-27 academic year.

Who Is Eligible to Apply?

Only candidates registered with the State CET Cell can apply. They must possess a valid MHT CET 2026 score. Participating institutes will prepare a fresh merit list based on the applications received.

How Does the Institute-Level Admission Work?

Rule 13 of the Information Brochure defines the institutional admission process. Each college conducts its own Institutional Round through the following steps:

  1. Colleges display the vacant-seat list on their official websites.
  2. Institutes publish newspaper advertisements inviting applications from registered candidates.
  3. Candidates submit their applications directly to the respective college.
  4. Colleges prepare and display a merit list on their notice boards.
  5. Admissions are finalised according to the Government Admission Rules for AY 2026-27.

Seat Acceptance Fee and Payment Modes

Candidates must pay a non-refundable seat acceptance fee of Rs 1,000. The available payment modes include net banking, debit card, credit card, and UPI.

Course fees differ across colleges and must follow the fee structure approved by the Fees Regulating Authority (FRA).

What Seats Are Available in the Institutional Round?

Two types of seats are available in this round:

  • Against CAP Vacancies (ACAP): Seats remaining vacant within the 80 to 100 percent CAP quota after the completion of regular CAP rounds.
  • Institutional Quota Seats: Private unaided colleges can fill up to 20 percent of their sanctioned intake directly.

Which Documents Should Candidates Carry?

Candidates must carry their original documents for verification at the institute. Failure to submit the required documents may result in immediate cancellation of admission.

  • MHT CET 2026 scorecard and admit card
  • Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets and passing certificates
  • Domicile certificate and Aadhaar card
  • Caste certificate and non-creamy layer certificate, wherever applicable
  • School Leaving Certificate and passport-size photographs
