Maharashtra Gets 8 New Government Medical Colleges; 800 Seats Added for CAP Round 3

Maharashtra has received the approval for eight new Government Medical Colleges (GMCs), with 800 newly added seats for admission to MBBS for the academic session 2024-25. The additional seats will be included in the CAP Round 3 of Maharashtra NEET UG Counselling 2024 conducted for admission to State Quota MBBS Seats. The new medical colleges are located in Gadchiroli, Ambernath, Amravati, Bhandara, Washim, Jalna, Buldhana, and Hingoli with an intake of 100 MBBS seats each.

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved eight new government medical colleges in Maharashtra with a capacity of 100 seats each for the academic year 2024-25. The addition of eight new colleges takes the total number of government medical colleges in Maharashtra to 35, with a total of 4,850 Seats. The newly added seats will be included in Round 3 of the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) for MBBS. Candidates can fill in their preference for these colleges as per the Round 3 Schedule of Maharashtra NEET UG Counselling 2024.

The newly approved medical colleges will be affiliated with the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS). With 100 seats per college, the total number of newly added seats stands at 800, increasing the admission opportunities for medical students in the state.
