The State CET Cell has released the MAH 5-Year LLB CAP 2026 Round 1 seat allotment result at llb5cap26.mahacet.org. Allotted candidates must report to their college by August 21 2026 and choose Freeze or Betterment.

The State Common Entrance Test Cell (State CET Cell), Maharashtra has released the Maharashtra 5-Year LLB Centralised Admission Process (CAP) 2026 Round 1 provisional seat allotment result on the official portal at llb5cap26.mahacet.org.
Allotted candidates must complete reporting formalities by August 21, 2026. Colleges will upload the admitted candidate list on August 22, 2026.
The State CET Cell has revised the CAP rules this year. Auto-freeze on the first-preference allotment has been discontinued. Candidates must now actively choose between Freeze and Betterment options.

How to Check the Round 1 Seat Allotment Result?
Allotted candidates can view their seat status in a few quick steps.
- Visit the official portal at llb5cap26.mahacet.org.
- Click the CAP Round 1 seat allotment link on the home page.
- Log in using the application number and password.
- The provisional allotment status will appear on the screen.
- Download and save the allotment letter for reporting.

Freeze or Betterment: Which Option Should You Pick?
The Freeze option locks the allotted seat and closes the counselling journey. Candidates satisfied with their college must select Freeze and report. Both actions require a non-refundable processing fee of Rs 1,000.
The Betterment option keeps the door open for a higher preference college. It can be used across Round 2 and Round 3 in 2026. Round 3 is the final round and disallows Betterment.

How to Report to the Allotted College?
Reporting is the final step to secure the allotted seat. Candidates must complete this between August 19 and August 21, 2026.
- Carry printed copies of the allotment letter and CAP application form.
- Visit the allotted college with all original documents and photocopies.
- Present documents to the admission committee for verification.
- Pay the applicable college admission fee at the counter.
- Collect the admission receipt as proof of the secured seat.

A Major Rule Change This Year
The State CET Cell has scrapped the auto-freeze rule for 2026. First-preference allotment no longer locks automatically. Every candidate must actively pick Freeze or Betterment to hold the seat.
